Fans of Xsyon can now access the game via the Steam games portal. Currently in early access, Xsyon developers are looking for player feedback and bug reporting to help get the client up to par for a final release later in 2015.
Currently Xsyon’s developers are working closely with players to balance and enhance its creature and combat systems. The game features unique systems including creature aging, breeding, increasing power through combat, looting players and migration. These systems are being revisited. Creature AI and path finding are being improved and taming with mounts and pets are currently in the works!

They got some cheek calling this/selling early access... I paid for this game years ago, and that is not an exaggeration... Got to be about 3+ years now around the time Mortal Online was selling their excuse for a game..
Surprised Xyson is still around TBH... Can anyone tell me how it is these days?
Last I heard Xsyon was being developed by 2-3 people at snail pace.
"Early access"? Wow. I was in the beta for Xsyon, and played when it first launched. That was years ago. Sort of reminds me of adding an "e" to the end of your title, so it costs more, like Woods Pointe apartments. That extra "e" makes it special, just like calling it "early access" when in fact the game has been out for years.
Not a bad game, if you like primitive survival games. It was fun at first; our guild (Hopi) built a whole town. Then it becomes the standard open-word PvP gankfest, boring.

Indeed. I also purchased it years ago, how it managed to survive is beyond me.
Sooo, Xsyon has morphed back into "Early Access" status, after having been released 3-4 years ago ? lmao...
Technically, they could call it anything, given that the original release was not the "actual" release. It was officially called "Xsyon - Prelude" or something.
Xsyon must be the MMO that holds the world record for spending the most years in "pre-release" status. I think the developer (there's only one guy that owns the game) is funding his entire life from this game !
This dev has added so many things to the game, but has never taken the time to make the gameplay and combat fun at all. It's the worst excuse for combat in any game i've ever seen. I was there with my guild at launch and while building a city was fun, it was not really a game imo.
They are Russian Developers are they not? This would explain everything I believe.
Furthermore, I am also an old backer of this game, even had a large plot of my own totally built up at one point. Right near the Apache. Those were the days.

HUH? I'm no expert on Steam but I was able to intigrate most of my game library onto steam (including MMOs) that I bought prior to ever using steam.
There is an "Add to steam library" button where you can add your games in... Im a fairly new steam user as wsell so ive only bought a few things from steam.
-Sadly I think you may have bought some games twice when you didnt need to.
EDIT- From Steam
Adding non steam games to steam library
Lol I totally forgot I even owned this game. Bought years ago also, played less than a month and uninstalled. Really wanted to support sandboxes and hoped the genre would make a comeback. Ah the folly of youth. I did some pre order thing and got some special weapon or tool cant remember.
Edit: looking back at my post history I made one about this game in 2011.
WTF?
Want to tell how a game is going nowhere? It releases back in March 2011 and then goes on steam as early access in dec 2014.

Try a MUD today at http://www.mudconnect.com/As for the game as others have stated there are maybe 3 or 4 devs and at one point there was just 1 guy working on it so development has been very slow.. its a shame really because whats currently in the game is very good content wise the crafting and base building are really well done and the zombie mobs are pretty fun to fight against.
When fighting the zombie mobs if they kill you they will take your gear and use it lol so it can get quite interesting when trying to get your stuff back.
Still because the game is only being developed by a few people its very very rough around the edges and its a shame I was always hopnig a big publisher would pick this up and throw some money at it as I think it would be the sandbox mmo people are looknig for.
I sub back up now and then to put some cash their way and play around in the game for a bit but without a big influx of cash I just cant see it getting any better.
Anyway there is a new PVE server from what I have read so for those who dont like full loot pvp for some reason can try out the PVE server.
Also if you already own the game you can request a steam key.
You can throw all the money you want it at. If it looks like a terd, and smells like a terd. It's usually a terd. Unfortunately for Xsyon it was a terd and still is.
hmm, I to bought this during beta and a few friends tried it. But everyone gave up a few days after it went to "release" and I got it because I thought they where going to play. I'm not a fan of PVP, I always end up nothing more then fodder for the few on top. But the game was interesting and a PVE server adds a bit of interest. But what is the cost? it was a monthly fee on top of the base game and many MMO's have gone to a free to play (which normally means ptw through costly powers, etc.).
Found the price: $15/month, ouch. Not for casual gamers.
Ah, but you are not adding the steam client, you are just adding the ability to launch from steam. Steam won't update such a game and you can't add anything to it from steam, like DLC or anything else they are selling. So what is the point of doing such?
As to Xsyson, played it until it became a huge gankfest. It was fun up to that point, but it is another good example of what happens when you add open pvp into a sandbox without having a decent ruleset to address all the associated problems with such. From what I have read, they have done little in that regard.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein
