Returning after a year a so and i forgot if there were soft caps or what is the ideal point allocation for a bow bow user, LVL 47 BTW. I Think i remember there was a point where dumping all points into stamina produced diminishing returns..... Can anyone suggest a decent point allocation for a BOW/BOW User......

There's an add-on called softcapinfo that simply adds, on your character panel, all the current softcap numbers for your level.
Also, a few months back the softcaps were increased and it's not nearly as easy to hit them 1-50 as it used to be.
What you allocate to stamina and health will depend a lot on your gear. I can't give you any numbers or formula but basically, for bow/bow you'll want as much stamina as you can stack without making yourself too squishy with not enough health.

Instal soft cap mod
if I'm not wrong 2400 is soft cap
I for example have with food best enchants
1500magica
3200 HP ( big hit pool is allway good )
and 2000 stamina
Great advice given above. My man is a stam NB. I run with about 30 points in stam, above soft cap, and 3200 health. You will not be able to reach anything close to that sub v14.
I just leveled leveled a sorcerer to v2 who is also a stam user. While leveling I ran with all my points in health. Once I hit v1 I put 29 in health and 20 in stam, plus waring stam gear. I'm settting at 2250 stam which is a couple hundred below soft cap and 2700 health with v1 triple stat food. Those numbers are far from ideal for pvp, what I do most, but I can pack enough punch to hurt someone. I'm squishy as heck with sub 3k health but I compensate with good anticipation and dodging.
You want to shoot for soft cap stam which is about 2400 and 3k health to start for pvp. From there you can increase either health or stam, w/e you see fit. PvE builds run with much less health 2500-2700 I believe with the rest in their main stat. To add, food and potions are a must. Food to reach optimal primary stats, and potions for survive and sustainability as a stamina user. And don't worry you'll get there
