meh, my end game was open world pvp back in vanilla WoW.. I had a rogue with hammer specialization for extra stunts, the QQing on the official forums was so hard that blizzard changed it, nothing last forever
@nephali, absolutely hit the nail on the head, if blizzard offered a vanilla like 3 month initial period of levelling I would be the first to say blizzard and wow is the best game ever still. They have the profits to do it, only greed is the blocker. Take WOD, it's funny that it took just as long as mop to complete levelling, but 'double' the levels. Almost as if they simply doubled the xp gain and the levels eh!
rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar
The leveling content from 90-100 is probably the best blizzard has done to date. The 100+ content however is probably the worst. I got my moneys worth and called it quits for now.
Completely agree with this. Always enjoyed WoW's leveling game. Then they go and pull the rug out from under you and make you play a different game at cap. Not cool.

Agreed, its hysterical how Suzie is calling OUTDATED content being content for lvl 100s. They are desperate if they have to resort to calling old content that has already been experienced as content of lvl 100s.
It is something to do, particularly for players who are new-ish or who like the achievement grind or transmog thing.
I never said the stuff post 100 is great, simply that it is there.
Big issue with doing old content is, that's what we had to do just to stay involved with the game before WoD hit for about a year. During that long glut of no content. Remember? Yeah, so advising us to do the same yet again, just isn't going to cut it for me.
Enjoyed getting to lvl 100 greatly. It was very fun.
But then once you hit 100 its old - get loot to get to raids to get loot so you can get lot.
Its boring. Nothing more.
Daylies are fun for a while but shortly...
It was a blast to get to 100. But then I hit that brick wall.
It seems that the "journey" or the "leveling" has always been my favorite part of any MMO.
Perhaps a clever developer that can find a fun way to perpetuate the "journey" will find the next big MMO. Raiding doesn't do it for me anymore, and I've given it an honest go, been there done that.
There is a game that already does this. ESO. I'm constantly progressing, the journey hasn't stopped for me at all, just hit VR1 and by the time I get to the end of the other 2 campaigns, patch 1.6 will hit with the Champion System giving me even more to persue. Justice system too. Love it. So much better to have this type of content to look forward to at endgame then just 2 to 3 raids and a handful of dungeons I'll outgrow in a week.
This is the problems with most MMO's. Once you hit max level, the journey ends. Sure, there are activities, such as crafting, puzzles, achievements, etc, but those aren't really considered being a journey. The journey is the storyline, and it becomes stalled until the next content update that introduces more story. The only other story driven content post max-level are probably side quests.
Raids have always been WoW's bread n butter.... and you actually call their dungeons content? It's a facerolling snoozefest of horrid stat RNG. There was no challenge in the dungeons that allowed palyers to faceroll right though it. Dungeons might be worth something if the made challenge mode worth the effort.
Apexis upgrades are the worst itemized crap gear, worse than Highmaul's itemization. There is ONE piece what has decent itemization but that is if one can bear the boring grind of apexis crystals. The only point to apexis crystals is the legendary quest line n thats it. People typically don't touch the apexis crystals after thats completed.
And crafting... you honestly believe the garbage you spew? Crafting got gutted big time to the point that it's a unan4imous "I don't like" 20+ pages of responses on the official forums.
Garrison is an affront to MMOs and furthur advocates anti-social behavior in a world devoid of world content.
Pet battles, achievements, old content.... seriously... you call that content at lvl 100.....? If you call that content then there is a serious flaw in said MMO.
My lvl 100 conent is summed up as ... log on for raid nights... and log off besides garrison maitenance. This expac is the one I grew bored the quickest with by far. My sub ends next week and I'll try a different MMO or take a break n play some single player games since there is nothing to do in WoW outside raiding where you actually play the game instead of playing Farmsville... excluding PvP since I don't PvP but thats in a horrid state also since not a single BG was added.
Again, no one has claimed that the post 100 stuff in place is great, or even good, content. It is content that is there for those who choose to wade and grind through it. Raids are the defacto end game but not everyone who plays WoW logs in for raids and garrison maintenance only. Some folks like to do old content, pet battles, achievement runs, etc. whether you do or not.
I respect you a lot for saying that. People often assume that because a article is produced that it means they are either for or against whatever they are writing about. To me, this article should be used to help people make an informed decision on whether or not they feel the new expansion of wow is for them or not. Again, my opinion, the other article writing the review in progress was a little underdeveloped mainly because it came from the perspective of a person going through the content once and saying how great it feels. This article tells me that there's stuff to do and eventually (sooner rather than later) I'll just have to repeat it all again and again, which can be less fun in the end.
Boooring...Most boring WoW expansion ever. No new race, no new class, no new bg, no new arena, professions are dead, no open world content, everyone is in garrisons, everything is on a 24h cd and the list goes on and on...
10 days remaining in my 2nd month and then i m over. Playing FFARR trial a couple of days now and i must say i have much more fun than in WoW.
Anyway, have fun if you like the game.
If it is so bad and boring why would you even bother finishing out your sub?

Funny how different views we have. For me the journey to 100 was a drag. Always have disliked leveling I'm WoW. However the 100 experience in WoD is the best I've experienced in WoW. So much to do, I feel I'm online every day always progressing on my two raid/pvp characters
I guess I like - leveling up in the new expacs, doing all the new dungeons only one time please, raidfinder, again only one time please, and then I'm off to something else.

Very true. I got to 46 on my templar. Still subbed to ESO but have been distracted by the glut of games this holiday season (WoD, Dragon Age, Shadow of Mordor, Destiny). I do like ESO, i need to get off my arse and find a good guild to enjoy the experience with.
To the comments about ADHD. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed Adderall. Let me tell you... I never focused on a specific character in an MMO so well in my life. My Altitus was cured!
I was never a content locust, I really do fail to see how someone with ADHD would have the focus to follow through. You could say it's a "gotta have it now" mentality, but for myself it doesn't really work that way. It's more about not being able to focus one something for very long before losing all concentration.
There are different aspects though. For some people it could be more of the hyperactivity aspects which might make more sense. It's sort of an umbrella term now covering a wide spectrum of symptoms with not every individual diagnosed having all of them.
I started WoW back in 2012 so I'm fairly new. I must say I am enjoying leveling through the old content on my way to 100. The questing is nice but fustrating because you outlevel the content before you finish a questline. Azeroth as a virtual world is fun to explore> There are 100s of goals I want to achieve and not enough time let alone I cant even raid with my guild until max level. Yet I don't feel like rushing.
I dont believe Blizzard is responsible for my fun. I believe they are responsible for creating an environment where I can create my own fun. With all the polished systems they have the only thing that I complain about is the lack of unique specialization

Surely you do not play mmorpg's for the story? You're better of with singleplayer RPG's for that.

You're right!
It ended at 92.

They called ArcheAge "incredibly polished" in a different article. I mean, why bother at this point?
I think this expansion is a big sign that they can't continue with the same format they've been doing for every expac.

this was the garrison expansion, last year it was the battle pets expansion...
two things i really dont care for. well done, but not for me.
they did a superb job with spire of arrak zone and Ashran pvp zone- but that wasnt enought to keep me subed.
but well done Blizzard, well done.
