IM an arabic muslim,and have read all of your post in the other forum and SOME SAID THAT GOD DOESNT EXIST,IF you have read QU'URAN or had any experience with its meanings you would've known tons of reason that islam is true and god exists want me to name a few?
oh ok,here is a good example,QU'URAN said that after 1500years you would see flying inventions tall towers it actually said that man will travel to the moon in mid 20th century and it all happened like it was supposed to.QU'URAN said that if a muslim fights defending islam and his country his corpse will stay forever at the place where he died (afghanstan)
When i see your reporters drawing jesus ,etc.I feel sorry that you actually cant do anything about it+you actually laugh at him!(even if it was about your own religion) I mean come on ,your fathers actually prayed for him COUNTLESS HOURS while you look at him naked raping a little boy,which i felt irritated when i 1st saw it.

Having a god is a faith thing, If you wish to belive then by all means do so. Just dont go saying "facts" that your god is real because you cant give any at all. Its all mythical writing. You need hard evidence to say anything is "factual".

How much more hate does religion need to cause before people realize that you are all incorrect. It just boggles my mind at some of the things people like you will beleive alshamsiman. That last quote about appreciating what our fathers have done is very symbolic of the differences between our cultures... While we hold our forefathers and the pioneers or religion in high-regard, due to our freedom of thought, we criticize and act better than our father's of the past... They made many mistakes, and while certain milestones were achieved, we always look forward, not backwards like the majority of Muslims do...
The OP needs to learn to let go of the 'old ways' and embrace the 21st century...
religion is a complete farse, its a VERY outdated method of controlling the masses. what better way to control people than to tell them that basically, if they are bad they'll go to hell, if they're good they'll go to heaven. it WAS a fantastic way to control people, when our understanding of science was little better than that of a 3 year olds, and the easy explanations of why things happen were very convenient at the time. whats that loud noise comming from the sky? i've got no way to realise its infact a powerful natural electrostatic discharge, it makes far more sense if someone tells me its an almighty being above me making all the noise!
basically, i honestly beleive religion now causes far more problems than it solves, and to be honest i cant beleive such a modern society with such immense understandings of the world would STILL be gullable enough to beleive what a 2000 year old book says.
i mean think about it sensibly, if there was a book titled 'modern science' written in 1803, would you honestly expect none of the theories to be outdated and no longer valid? the exact same applies to religion and the bible, its out dated nonsense which people take far, far too seriously.
and as for the 'predictions' in the qu'uran, well the weather lady said it'd rain today (which by the way it hasnt), but i'm not worshiping her (although i probably should, shes fit). anyone could predict something about the future thats bound to happen.... i could say i reckon there will be flying cars in 1000 years, which i reckon i'd probably be right about. its just common sense, and definatly not a reason to beleive EVERYTHING you read in that book.
islam is a VERY young religion, one of the youngest there is i beleive, and because of its age its going through its 'teething' phase, whereby it can generally throw its toys out of the pram and start whinging whenever someone says something that disagrees with its point of view. all religions do the same, the crusades were no different for christianity. the ONLY difference is the fact that we're now 1000 years in the future, surely we should have learnt something?
In new york a few years ago there was an art exhibit that showed religous icon's in a tasteless manner.

Even though the catholics may have been offended they didnt call for the artist head to be cut off.Nor did they send in suicide bombers or call for his hands to be cutoff either.They didnt even threaten to kidnap anyone.
If the majority of muslims are "offended" by this why are they NOT offended at the extremists that are hijacking the socalled "peace loving"religion of islam?
When will the peaceful muslims step up a notch or 2 and arrest some of their own followers?
I feel at this point in the world that they better start soon,you have a handful of extremists making YOUR religion into 1 of the most hated in the world.

Look, I can understand why Muslims got upset about the cartoons. I can understand why Christians get upset when someone ridicules their religion. I understand why farmers get mad listening to animal rights people and why liberals get mad when a conservative is talking. But I don't think you quite get why we hold free speech in such high regard, even if it means hearing/reading/seeing things that annoy us.
Ok, let's think about your Jesus example. Let's say a newspaper runs an editorial ridiculing Jesus and Christianity. Let's say this newspaper is in a predominantly Christian western country. Why do we put up with it?
Alright, let's just assume that we decided not to tolerate it. We make it illegal to say or print anything insulting to Christianity. Ok, so who decides what's insulting to Christianity? And how far do we take this type of attitude? Where do we draw the line?
So now imagine that a political party forms that calls itself the Christian party and bases all of their political platforms on Biblical interpretations. Now what? Can we not say anything bad about this party or any of it's members?
You see where this is going?

Do I appreciate what my forefathers have done for me? You're damn right I do. As an Anglo-American I appreciate what my forefathers did for me all the way back to the time when England began emphasizing the rule of law over the whims of Aristocrats.
I appreciate the protestant revolution that freed us from a defacto Theocracy.
I appreciate the struggles of Americans and Europeans to free themselves from Monarchies and establish democracies.
And I appreciate the establishment of the sometimes painful right to free speech as our best defense to our democracies.
When you start limiting what people can say you do it only to control people. And that path is most definately a slippery slope. If it's "wrong" to say this or think that it can very easily devolve into a witch hunt. Power hungry people will use any leverage they can get to gain power...fingers will start being pointed. Differing opinions will be swatted down. And pretty soon if you step out of line you find yourself in very serious trouble. This sort of thing would kill a democracy and replace it with some sort of monlithic one party rule.
We in the west used to have kings. We decided we didn't like that anymore and would prefer to be free people. So yes, I appreciate what my forefathers did for me. I don't want to go back to having kings or theocrats ruling unfree people. And if that means I sometimes have to hear/read/see something that upsets me then so be it. I'll just be upset but I won't tell the person they can't say what they said. Because I know that I am also free to say what I want to say.

by reading the topic header i was to understand that contained in this thread would be a muslim's point of view on the cartoons. instead we get a half assed shout out to allah?! if the person who started this thread is truely muslim, please post how you feel about the cartoons. im genuinely interested in hearing what you have to say in regard to the controversy. not some speech on whether your god is real or not. thank you.
