Report: The Elder Scrolls Online Pulled from More Australian Stores

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/01/14/report-the-elder-scrolls-online-pulled-from-more-australian-stores

A source at another Australian retail franchise, Harvey Norman, told the publication that that “all game cards and copies were pulled out of Harvey Norman, and the ONLY reason that would happen is because it has become a free product”. The source added they had seen the clearout’s paperwork confirmation and that “if it was being brought out in a different format, it’d have a price drop, not a recall."

It's happening!

Given the user name, post number / account creation date and the contents of the thread...

I can't tell if this is satire or not.

Good to read the thoughts of another article and it's comment section, though.

Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

Funny how all this stuff is coming from Australia. Did someone forget to tell me that they are now the center of the MMO universe?

Why aren't we getting similar reports from NA & Europe? Maybe Australia somehow got on ZOS' bad side and they're perma-banning the whole country.

I think my rumor fits the facts better,

Lol, yeah, I was wondering the same thing. If everybody in Oz stopped playing ESO tomorrow, I doubt ZOS would even notice the fact. It's a TINY market...

Maybe the Aussies decided they were offended by some of its content?

Unless I'm mistaken this is the country that's banned tons of game titles before, isn't it?

Rest assured, the console versions of ESO will be sold as full-price console games, regardless of what the subsequent monetization schemes would be... image

And someone else ignores the fact that it was EB games that issued the recall and ignores the statement that EB games made in regards to this being part of their over stock recall, considering Destiny as well as a few other games were on that list as well. Its awesome though how these "gaming news sites" are like the National Inquirer you read them now and wonder if the writer has a tin foil hat.

Here, let me quote it for you:

A source at another Australian retail franchise, Harvey Norman, told the publication that that “all game cards and copies were pulled out of Harvey Norman, and the ONLY reason that would happen is because it has become a free product”. The source added they had seen the clearout’s paperwork confirmation and that “if it was being brought out in a different format, it’d have a price drop, not a recall."

Being that I have lived in canada for 40 years out of 41 I can testify to the fact that in canada often stuff is sold up to the day before it becomes free.

    Bestbuy... lol

I just cant see it going F2P yet. They will not release it as a free product on console, that would just be a silly business move. So free on PC only?

That's entirely possible but links to bestbuy or stores down under don't mean f. all in the grand scheme of things, these guys are just trolling.

I look forward to it going f2p so I can give it a spin but don't care really if that happens now in in 2 years.

My opinion is buy the game now from G2A for only 12.49 euro even it's going B2P you will save money (F2P not going to happen but u can keep dreaming)..

I do not know what the crazy Australians are up to but in the EU you can buy physical copies of said product plus game time cards. I've seen the products myself in Munich, Athens and Toulouse.

I've been getting reports that stores in the UK, Germany and France are removing copies.  Not just one outlet, but multiple stores.  In addition, the statement made by EB Games seems to fool a lot of people.  It is a part of the Holiday returns, but the real story of the matter is that ESO is the only one where every copy is being sent back, whereas Destiny and others -- who are also a part of such -- still have a presence.  This is where people are coming from and starting rumors as if they are fact (which they are not until an announcement is made).

We'll likely hear something by Pax or nothing at all.  Either way, the gaming world moves on.
