I knew that would be said, so I thought I'd just get it out of the way.
Last week we had a controversial post on the server loads and populations, the methods of obtaining that information were questionable, but the numbers itself were generally accepted as "believable" to say the least.
Yesterday and the day before it was reported that all the servers, even the more populated ones were reporting as very light. Many believe that this was because the methods of obtaining the numbers previously reported were disabled. Also it is reported that there were fixes in the launchpad with no explanation.
Today reports are coming in that servers are reporting Medium status again... Including the European ones....
hmmmmm.....

I suspect that if you were reading the Dev's weekly status reports, you'd see this:
In short, my faith in those numbers skyrocketed when the servers all started reporting very light.
Absolute proof that the numbers were TOTALLY accurate.
Why else update the launcher. Bet the packets don't sniff the same.

the majority of all servers are medium or heavy during primetime. Dont listen to the disgruntled ebay-jedi just install the game and check for yourself. Druing primetime, i dont want to see screenshots from 5 am in the morning thank you.

Don't know why SOE are so paranoid about people knowing the population numbers. On my trial account for EVE it shows how many are playing and how many of those are trial accounts. I'm seriously digging that game to be honest. Don't miss SWG one single bit.

Since when? Where are your numbers to support this? The best I have seen is on Sat/Sun that about 1/2 the servers are at medium load with 2 or 3 at heavy. During the week, at best, 3/4 are at medium with Bria the only one being heavy during prime time hours consistantly.

the scary thing about the whole swg thing now is that there are actually some people that are still playing that CRAP..unbelievable in my mind.....
Yep, server load screen is no longer trustworthy. Not since the knee-jerk reaction SOE had to the packet capture data. That reaction proves that SOE is affraid of releasing real numbers. Which tells me they're very concerned about hiding the true state of the game.

Actually last summer those numbers gradually climbed it wasn't overnight. And it was in the period after ROTW and EPIII were released as well as a huge international TV Add campaign for the game so it wasn't a surprise that SWG experienced rapid growth afterwards.
