Anything engine revamping done in the past year?

in Everquest II

I came back with a very high spec PC with pretty much at the time the highest core performance CPU. But even though some places you get 100 fps in others it would tank a lot and 60 fps did not give that 60 fps feel you get in most games.

 

I ended up getting too much motion sickness due to being half blind and how the engine seems to be pushing past what it should be doing.

 

So simple question any new changes toward this? Anything offloaded from the main thread?
