Solis plots are still all taken dunno about other maps. (In my server at least Melisara)
However, I removed a 16x16 plot next to my other plots to reduce tax and no one seemed to notice for almost a week before being taken. You can also buy a spot or a spot plus design. They are no longer that expensive, just mine some iron and sell the smelted stuff.
100 Stone Bricks (300 raw stones) sell on 50g
100 iron ingots (300 iron ore) sell on 8g
100 Lumber (300 logs) sell on 8g
Plots sell on around 150g depending on their location.
You still require to hunt for a good spot.
For the small scarecrow (8x8) you won't have any problem finding a spot but for the 16x16 you might.
Go run around the farms and click on any of them that have nothing or dying plants/animals maybe they didn't pay the tax. Plus don't worry about carebear or not carebear maps, I picked solis because I don't want to get ganked by some idiot while feeding animals or cutting trees.
You can get a 16x16 in a pvp zone for a couple hundred gold on my server (Tahyang)
a couple hundred gold isn't what it used to be due to inflation, but has mostly stabilized with less people fishing and trade runs for gold.
I just bought my second plot of land, it's not as rare as it was when you played. I'd say about half to 1/3 it's normal value. That being said, PvE zones are still prime real estate and have not lost much value.

Depends on what server you are on. On Lucius, there are plots being sold/advertised anytime I'm on. It is a low population server and I have seen 16x16's go for as little as 160 gold in the last 30 days. There isnt much of a land grab hack issue on the low population servers but it cant be long before a merge hits.
Why would you want land? Land just burns your labor and earns you a bit of gold. You might as well play free, use your labor to mine stone and sell it for gold for pots and hereafter stones. No land means no farming and no trade runs, you are free to PVP, help guildies and have fun. T3 hasla and GHA gear isnt that far off from the current crafted stuff. Patron in its current form isnt worth the $15 when compared to F2P.
Prices have come way down on Salphira. I feel pretty fortunate to have sold my house and 8x8s for a decent amount of gold when I stopped my sub.
There are lots of open spots in various places. You do have to look around but they are there.
There are plenty of 8x8 you can find. Its the 16x16 and bigger that is the problem. Even when you find one, there's still plenty of hackers getting it placed at .001 seconds. Then what they do is transfer the plot to their main account to avoid getting banned and losing the plot.
It'll be pretty hard to get back into the game at this point. Everything has inflated greatly. Weapon crafting materials has been blown way out of proportions. Just a month ago it costs 40 silver a piece for the dusts, now you're looking at roughly 1.3g a piece. That's just the lower tier crafting material too. Kinda makes me wish there were still botters around and keeping the prices low.
The population has dropped considerably now. The Nuians outnumber the Harayans at least 4:1. Although most players from Haranya side pvp better than the Nuian side. Which was definitely why I chose to play on the east continent, its fun and challenging going against 2 or 3 players at a time.
