Perfect World and Cryptic Studios have announced the next Neverwinter module. Called "Elemental Evil", the module is said to be the largest one yet and will increase the level cap to 70. In addition, players will face off against the various cults of Elemental Evil and will see a tie in to the forthcoming tabletop game, Princes of the Apocalypse. Lastly, the Oathbound Paladin class will be unleashed into the game.
On the horizon for after Module 6: Elemental Evil are modules with highly requested additions including player strongholds and well-known characters from Dungeons & Dragons lore.
Powerful forces seek Neverwinter’s destruction, are you ready to face them?

What do you mean "old game"? It's not even two years old!
NW has been very meh for me but raising the level cap would help me get back into it. I wonder how they're going to work treasure now since some of it had level restrictions.
Well one would hope that this will be a expansion that will make it easier to catch up with new characters... Because just getting up to end-game is a real pain in the behind not to mention getting high enough gearscore to be able to do the top instances.
Also i like to see that blazing hatred that the power gamers will show once their maxxed artifact gear end up barley better then dungeon blues.
But i find it unlikely that it will happen... instead endgame will remain a horrid mess of a grind with hardly any catch-up mechanic apart from buying absurd amounts of AD.
This have been a good conversation
Shamefur Dispray!!!
This filthy Neverwinter Online sprawn to trample over legacy of Temple of Elemental Evil!
Raping Icewind wasn't enough apparently...
As a fan of tabletop D&D and classics from Bioware i want to puke...
IMHO this is why all gear needs to be upgradable so everyone doesn't have to worry about pimping their stuff out only to have it be rendered obsolete by the next new shiny.
I know right? It's not even the same setting. The Temple of Elemental Evil = Greyhawk which is > Forgotten Realms (Neverwinter), which is > Eberron (DDO). Just typical marketing and name recognition to get people to play. However, I would expect that the majority who actually play Neverwinter probably never even heard of The Temple of Elemental Evil anyways, so no harm nor foul I guess?
"If I offended you, you needed it" -Corey Taylor
Considering they are nearly done with thier version, and DDO only "plans" to do the module, it might very well be the other way around. Does not change that DDO is the better D&D game of the two though...
Yep, that could be Troika's motto, since it fits their troika (I mean their big 3)
Bloodlines is one of my favourite games, and it means a lot since I loathe V:tM, I think it's easily the weakest and most lame one from the WoD stable (yeah, I know it's popular and stuff, but it doesn't equal quality, just look at blizz ). Bloodlines is an awesome game with several layers, great characters, cool writing - and a truckload of bugs at launch.
Temple of Elemental Evil is the same, a great game, a nice iteration of the original, cool ideas - and a truckload of bugs.
Just as Arcanum, a unique and odd game, great setting, interesting ideas - and a truckload of bugs at launch
Troika games: if you get over the messy phase and wait for the fixes, you'll have a great and memorable gameplay.
Well, I played the original TOEE, and while I agree that most players never even heard of the game (very old fashioned), it would be nice to play a simulacrum of it.... hopefully they will not scramble it too much.
The only doubt I have is on the level up. Bringing up the gear now is a pain, it takes forever, and if we have to do it again I shall start to weep.
Also now most players are 60+, and the older modules are left mostly to their own devices, with not enough new players to make up for those who no longer go there.
To get into a 5 player dungeon last time it took me 3 hours, and any time I tried the regular dragons (ebon down, neverdeath, etc) if I was lucky there were three other players trying to kill the dragon..... and none of them with a very strong gear rating, at least high enough to make it possible to kill the dragon...
And finally, power players will do what have done before: pay real cash for upgrading the characters and be first once more....
After buying the complete Neverwinter Nights collection from GoG, I have to say that I regret that I wasted any time with this game.
Our lan parties have been fun as hell since introducing NWN to the fold. Many more classes and fun to be had.
The problems that plagued NWN2 upon launch have been fixed, and with the persistent worlds (Baldur's Gate: The Sword Coast Chronicles & Middle Earth: Unfinished Tales) you really do not need anything for your role-playing fix.
Neverwinter is a bastardization of the D&D experience. NWN 1 & 2 have a much better toolset to create your own adventures, and are the ultimate D&D multiplayer games (If you can handle the aged graphics).
