I was a big fan of the Enchanter in EQ1 and the early levels of EQ2, prior to the pet becoming a "summon".

Are there any other games that have this mechanic?   I know wow does not have anything in that sphere other than the priest channeled mind control spell.

    You can tame some creatures and dominate others in Mortal Online.  They are used for fighting and mounts and such.
    Are you onto something or just on something?

    GW2 Mesmer is really fun and all mind powers. You can shape the field of battle with this profession. Very unique class but it plays very different then Enchanters just because its an action based game but that feeling of no one does what Im doing is awesome. Your illusions can in a way CC and Tank or DPS. 

    EDIT: One warning, much like the Enchanter, it takes a skilled player to master the Mesmer

    SWGEmu Creature Handler?^^ i know the game is old, but its still preaty nice Sandbox, there are also some mods to increase the Graphics, looks not that bad at all : SWGEmu Better Graphics

    i just started yesturday and its preaty fun to be back again there!

    Thanks all for the suggestions, I appreciate it.

     

    I am still looking to acquire source installs for SWG, and would love to get into that.  In the meantime I am looking up project1999 for the nostalgia trip.

    I played the mesmer in GW2 and still go back to him on occasion.   Lol, I am in a bit of a snit with them since a GM recently made me change my name... Wutduf Huckizat, it was totally innocent i swear!  But you are right that was one of my more enjoyable diversions for a while.

    you could grab some original disks on ebay preaty cheap when u are lucky...
