A survival, crafting game thats not a gank fest...

StyxaStyxa Member UncommonPosts: 76

Hi folks

I always wanted to try a game like day-z or h1z1 but what kept me away was that I often read that it all comes down to players killing and ganking each other and thats really not what I want to spend my free time at.

Is there anything out there that focuses more on crafting, working together and survival against something thats not other players?

I dont really need zombies, etc. in teh game but I wouldnt mind them if something like thi swould be present.

One last thing, the game shouldnt be too old, I have no problem with "minecraftish" graphics that are intendet to look kind of retro but I really dont want to play a game thats like 8 or 10 years old.

Hope you can help me out :)

Definitly have to second 7Days to Die.

Best survival game out there in my book. Great crafting, option to disable pvp for your server if you want to and DOZENS of options to fine tune how you want your world to be.

Also: Zombies actually give you a hard time. Unlike other "zombie" games like H1Z1 where you rarly if ever see any zombies.

MMOs finally replaced social interaction, forced grouping and standing in a line while talking to eachother.

Now we have forced soloing, forced questing and everyone is the hero, without ever having to talk to anyone else. The evolution of multiplayer is here! We won,... right?

Yep! And if you want to play it in multiplayer, just pick a server that has PvP disabled.

It's an amazing game that's constantly being updated.

What makes 7 days better than the others? What sets it apart? Reading up on it, it seems a little more limited than the others, most comparisons equate it to Minecraft rather than Dayz.. Not a big minecraft fan myself. I've yet to buy any of these games from Dayz, rust, H1Z1, etc. Were I to chose one why would it be 7 days? I like to play open world games like this for the mayhem that can ensue, vehicles being a big part in that, would 7 days be for me?

Edit- The reason I prefer the mayhem over (realism?) is that too much silly stuff tends to happen in open world games of this nature. Wearing immersion pretty thin after extended play.

H1Z1 has PVE servers with no ganking.

There is Planet Explorers. Life is Fedual just make you're own server.

Hard to say really. It simply is fun, the other games are not.

    Ill try tho:

H1Z1, Rust ect. feel and play like walking simulators. You are scared of other players and pretty much ignore zombies. It is boring because all you do is walk around, die to players and wonder where the zombies are.

7 Days to Die is different in that you do A LOT less pointless walking. Have A LOT more crafting to do with more freedom. Zombies actually pose a challenge and DO attack your base constantly. And every 7th day is a MAJOR MAJOR horde incoming that will be a good challenge. I have spend 50% of a ingame day just to finish off a horde at some point.

If i had to sum it up in one sentence id say: Buy 7 Days to Die if you want a zombie survival game, buy the others if you want a slow paced CounterStrike.
