Looking for a new MMO to play

GongshowGongshow Member Posts: 3

Ive played Perfect World for entirely way too long.  However ive tried a few other MMO's but nothing seems to catch my fancy.

So im looking for some suggestions for something along the line of the old PWI. It doesn't have to be a new game or an old school one just looking for something different but along the same lines.

Thanks for the opinions.

I haven't played PW, so I don't know what features it all has.

Can you be more specific about things you like in an MMO? PvE? PvP? Action combat? Classic tab-targetting?

Group activities like dungeons and raids? Collecting mounts and pets? PvP arenas and ranking systems?

i love open world pvp, i don't think i could ever play a strickly pve game and enjoy it.  tab targeting makes things easier for myself but it doesn't have to be that way.

Action combat is fun but would take me a lot longer to learn how to do it well.

However i do like having to farm dungeons or raids.  Mounts and pets are window dressing for me i tend to find one of each i like and never change them.

I like games that take awhile to advance not really into ones where u can rush through the content to end game.

    Hope that helps a bit

Sounds to me like ArcheAge may be worth checking out for you. Unlike some players I doubt you'll make much of a fuss about their cash shop, since you're used to it from PWE's games. And it's F2P, so no harm, no foul if you don't like it.

Right now it seems everyone is waiting for something. ESO was the last MMO worth mentioning. Wildstar before that and that one was a flop. There are hints of 2 major MMOs coming out this year that has not said boo about making them. We will see if thats real or fake. Next two MMOs that may be worth playing is Crowfall if you like that kind of PvP game and then there is EQN and again its got big shoes to fill by their own words and living up to the name Everquest. Many excited for it and many think its gona be a flop. So right now, there is only older MMOs to go revisit or play any triple A MMO you may have missed like FF, Rift, Lord of the Rings (may lose its IP in 2017 so now or maybe never) Kinda feel like a MMO in limbo myself lol. Stuck playing WoW again and not sure I am having fun any more lol

most people i know are back to GW2. Expansion incoming - and still by far the best game out there.

Sigh, yet another person looking for 'something different but exactly the same'. Luckily, in this one particular case, there are some options. However PWI is still probably the best made out of them, with WoW actually being a better option (if you can afford the sub).

There's also Runes of Magic, Rift, Age of Wushu, Forsaken World.

If you're willing to branch out abit and try some stuff a bit different theres GW2, ESO, and TSW.

You could try Forsaken world, it is a darker version of PW by the same people. I think that is as similar as you get.

If you want something slightly different then try TERA or Guildwars 2. They are a bit more action oriented, TERA is F2P (but with a rather generous model), GW2 needs you to buy a box but it is far more polished. Both games are good.

Yep...I just downloaded GW2 again and am getting ready for the expac (have 3 level 80 well equipped characters). Have been (and will continue) playing Firefall.

I still think end game GW2 is dead. The model i am not a fan of no progression beyond skins.

GW2 and ESO is where its at atm, maybe even Wildstar now. Otherwise you can play a traditional MMO with tab target combat. Zzzz

    TERA is pretty good imo.

    Try ESO soon B2P!
