Better to buy on the PC or Consoles?

MMOExposedMMOExposed Member RarePosts: 7,400

I figured TESO would go B2P sooner or later.

So I decided to wait it out till the console release of the game.

Well I dont have a PS4 yet but will soon.

I like the controller input, but I believe PC game can also use controllers.

But which is more populated community between the two?

Should I go PC or Console in my best interest?

Neither would be the wisest option.

I prefer single players games on a console so I can lay on the couch and not worry about talking to anyone. I prefer MMOs on the computer because you do a whole lot more typing and talking and I need to be more focused sitting upright at a desk lol...and I just prefer MMOs with a keyboard and a mouse and that is awkward when laying on a couch in front of a 70" TV.

It is impossible to know population of consoles servers they don't exist yet.  Consoles will have a new economy and large numbers starting from scratch.

Given the SOE volatility I would pause before buying a ps4.  We don't know the extent of fallout of the sale of soe and whether it will effect upcoming ps4 content.  Is there a large backlog of games for ps4 you want that aren't available on pc?

PC version can be picked up very cheaply at present, maybe for around $20.  Tamriel unlimited (the console version) will probably cost about $60 US.  The PC will be rebranded after console launch and probably cost the same.

If for nothing else, PC version will be superior because of: addons. ESO has stock UI terribad on par as SWTORs launch one, and i doubt they did more than just made sure it works better with controller.

If that is so you will want to pull your hair out without addons (not talking combat floating numbers or such but basic stuff like sorting/comparison/non interrupted harvesting/all of crafting ones....)

And yes, you can still find some cheap ESO boxes/keys before it goes B2P, while console ones will be full price (i guess, as well as PC rebranded ones)

Buy cheap PC version now and you can port your account to console for 20 dollars later as far as I know.

I completely agree. The mods make a difference..and I am also not talking about combat numbers..just the quality of life mods and UI ones..like one mod that makes the guild roster more meaningful..one that puts a bar at the top with some helpful information so you don't have to open up menus.....etc.
