SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The next Diablo 3 patch will be featuring a host of improvements that are sure to bring a smile to players' faces. Among others, new armor sets will be introduced along with updates to some of the existing armor sets.

In addition, players can look for:

  • Legendary items will be receiving some new powers

  • More and randomized Greater Rift maps

  • Class updates (though much fewer than in previous patches)

  • Three new goblins to chase

  • A cosmetic items window to get collectibles out of inventory

  • The new CASC file system (currently used by WoW)

Read the full list of items that will be heading to the PTS soon on the Diablo 3 community site.

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls is actually a good game. Could of been better given Jay Wilson didn't likely botch its design, but given what it was they built on it and made the game far better and much more fun.

That said, the patch doesn't really look that 'big' or seem to add anything really new. Its okay but Its not really something that is that 'awe inspiring'.

Patch looks good, but I feel my time is still better spent in Marvel Heroes. Lots of heroes to play, and an alternate advancement system with actual depth. And better team-ups / minions / hirelings (which are getting even better). And more frequent patches and content updates. And a better community. And lots of events and seasonal activities. And... well, you get the point.

Don't get me wrong, I love D3, it's got the best combat and is overall the second best ARPG out there right now, but Blizzard really is being put to shame by Gazillion and even Grinding Gear Games in terms of patches and content. And both of those games are free! Not that you'd guess that if you saw how much I've spent on MH...

Blizzard still thinks D3 + expansion is worth $80. No amount of patches will undo this amount of greed for me. Make a reasonably priced combo deal or many people will never touch this game. That's like someone trying to charge a $30 subscription for a new MMO.

grats on jumping to conclusions. no i do no want to grief, i want there to be public games i can find where people are already pvp'ing.....ya know? like diablo 2 had? i like diablo 3 and play it from time to time but what kept me playing D2 all those years and what would keep me playing D3 is pvp.

i know i am not alone either.

Still not enough to entice me.  I bought the expac but never finished the new content or reached the cap.  The carrots just aren't enough yet.  I prefer the carrots of Marvel Heroes.  POE would be the ARPG I'd play if there was no Marvel Heroes.

D3 could really use something deeper than just chasing paragons and playing shallow seasons.  I would be shocked if they make another expansion for this game.  D3 has amazing combat and a smooth running engine, but everything else is shallow as hell.

Yah companies should just give away stuff for free.  Thats a way big business should work for sure

80$ is nothing considering you can play it as much as you want forever, with no cash shop

I'd gladly pay $50 a month for a game where I didn't have to play with entitled freeloaders that evxpect everything should be free...

Next time you go to the movie theater and tell them the movie should be free because the popcorn costs $8... see how that works out for you.

This. Make a reasonably priced combo than i would like to buy their game... But not with that high price.

if $80 is high priced for a game + expansion, that you can play unlimited without a cash shop, then I don't know what to tell you.

People don't complain about console games costing $60 and they have less then 100 hrs of gameplay normally, D3 has unlimited hours

Actually I have to agree, I bought the D3+expac separate, and have to say while the engine and game mechanics are good, games no way as fun or addictive as MH and that is FREE!

So asking for a reasonable price for combo is well reasonable, especially as the game can only be played as long as the servers are still online (chances of that occurring are slim as long as battle net stays online, but Blizzard can arbitrary decide to shut the game down whenever they like; thus meaning that your shit out of luck if you want to play).

At least D2 I can still play even if all the servers close down.

Nobody knows the future of a games company look at SOE/daybreak; same could occur to blizzard, maybe some conglomerate of billionaires will buy out blizzard and then kill the company and all it's games just cause they can (ultimate troll), unlikely, I know.
But at the end of the day point is your dependant on blizzard keeping it's servers online to play d3, whereas we can play d2 whenever we like.

And as for MH, you only pay what you believe the game is worth, you dan unlock all the characters without spending a dime, long and exhausting grindfest, yeah it is. But you pay £0 to play with access to all content including raids.

So asking for reasonable price for a game is not crazy, when you no longer have ownership of said games in this day and age.
Especially with others jumping on bandwagon of chastising another for not wanting to pay the same amount as when something is realesed.

After all blue ray prices come down if one waits long enough. And we go to the cinemas for the experience of watching said movie on a large screen with good surround sound, which is about $15 dollars a time, an extra $8 dollars gives you a blue ray that you can watch however many times you like. And thee no time limit on how long the movie will be in the cinema.

Which is pretty much what's occurring in the game industry. Games release with an artificial time limit attached to them, and you pay for the privilege to play the game, no longer are you buying a game.

Enjoyed my time up to550 paragon, but i cant play anymore.RoS is fine but until some new expansion comes i don't see myself playing again because of a patch. Anyway imho, after RoS D3 is a fine game.

Funny only spent half that.  Might behove you to look for deals sometimes...

It is still a fun game on occasion.

I would gladly pay $80 for the complete MH, however every month as a casual, I would have to spend way more just to unlock a new char, which are usually OP at release, so if you wanna play em, you pay.

MH you can unlock char with out paying if play the game for a good amount even casual, less in a year I have about 15 char I didn't pay for unlocked. And that playing casual. Only thing end up paying the most is bank slot if you play casual.

I know you can, but you say play for a good amount, thats not casual.  I have played since launch, only unlocked 6 chars thru the game.  I get maybe 10 hrs a week of playtime, I will never be caught up at the rate they release chars.

now if there was a 100$ option to have all classes I would do that no prob.

also the bank slots I have to pay for, which I dont in D3

Bank slot is not a problem if people have to pay for D3 can run you about $80 both games when is not on sale, https://us.battle.net/shop/en/product/game/diablo. One can open about 5 black slot for $20 in MH still tons of room if one is  not a pack rat and clear up have same amount with less many for bank slot.

Even if one can unlock all the classes in MH, will take you a bit even casual to get them all to 60, is much easy pick a main and level alts on the side to get the buff for your main.

But anyhow is not a problem for them to make money MH and still have a way to unlock them with money if really want it, or just play the game unlock them that way, D3 is a very bad game is a good game, but there very limited what you can do, you have to follow some guide line to even play the endgame is not fun when your locked in to a spec or a gear set to do even ok MH don't have that problem what D3 is facing for me, I can play and not being hold back as they have crappy set up how they do things.
