Thoughts? What is everyone's opinions on the information we've been given?
Will crowfall force Mark to put the team on 24/7 call to hit the Alpha deadline?
Did them adding building (not previously expected in Alpha) delay it?
Oh to be a fly on the wall in their meetings when Crowfall was announced.

Another delay is obviously very possible and you would do yourself a service by expecting a delay at this point.
I don't think Crowfall made CSE to tremble as much as people like to think. It obviously goes without saying that they looked it up and discussed it. Its competition, they would be stupid if they didn't. (They are not stupid, they are industry veterans.) Secondly, I believe the guys over at CSE has a pretty solid timeline and plan for what they want CU to be. I don't think Crowfall has had any major impact of their development.

You are attaching way too much significance to Crowfall, and especially its supposed impact on CU. Maybe you caught some overHypitis?
I am looking forward to both games, but Crowfall has quite a long way to go.
On alpha deadlines, based on recent info they will either make it according to plan or with some small delay, and good part of backers doesnt seem to have any problems with eventual minor pushback - especially if it means additional features.

Communication from CSE with the backers has always been superb. I havn't read anything regarding an alpha delay so it might be on time.
Even if it's not, who cares, finally a game made by capable people who are not trying to serve some suits or big investors. Personally can't wait to see what the CSE team comes up with. I was a bit turned down from all the kickstarter stuff after seeing what Star Citizen became (another game I backed) but CU keeps my hopes high.

It seems highly doubtful to me they will finish all the items on the publicly released PAT #4 checklist in the next week. So I'm expecting at least a few weeks perhaps a full month delay.
The dividing line between pre-alpha and alpha is entirely arbitrary and fully at their discretion, so I suppose give them credit for not simply declaring alpha to begin on time last August or next week if they haven't met their own self-imposed goals for that milestone.

Exactly, well said. To bad the majority don't see this, they're incapable of seeing the bigger picture.
I can't stress this enough, expect a delay. Alpha will be here in due time, let CSE prepare and do what they feel is necessary. If they don't end up needing to delay; great!

All PATs are under NDA. You don't get to see new screenshots at this time. Only IT and invited alpha testers are participating at this time. This mean: not you.
CU has been VERY communicative on their development process. The project launched from the very earliest stage of development. It was a TRUE kickstarter and a very professional team is behind it. Most here obviously lack the patience and experience taking part in multi-year development projects.
Your statements are painfully ignorant. If you do not wish to take part in a very long development project then come back and comment in 1.5 years time.
And no, everyone has not lost interest in this game. Only backers are part of the information loop outside of media sites and Mark prefers to support smaller independent or genre specific websites. This game is designed from the outset to appeal to a very specific genre.
I'll be perfectly clear on this: Mark and his crew give zero fucks about the casual mmo follower who simply views this game as "just another mmo alternative".

If you were a KS backer you would have been offered an opportunity to actually test the game.
I am one such backer, but the testing is always in the US weekday hours so I'm never available to participate due to the RL day job.

Sorry but modern day game dvelopment doesn't work that way. No i won't be coming back in 1.5 years times. They haven't updated their youtube page in 2 months, it's not like they are using their own money to develope this game. Mark jacobs the guy who sold mythic to EA, originally i thought he might be on to something but he's a charlatan like the rest of the old school devs.

CU is 50% crowd funded and 50% privately funded.
Leave the forums. Read up and watch the countless hours of communications and videos this company has released and you will understand exactly how this game is progressing. It is only slightly behind their preferred timeline largely due to the difficulty of hiring new experienced staff.

Let me just say this; there is not. It would be very stupid to have a marketing campaign at this point, hell the game isn't even in Alpha yet. You're mad because the game isn't done yet, well, there isn't much anyone of us can say to change your mindset.

Who cares? Its fucking alpha. I want them to make a good product not rush it out for the I want it now crowd. Alpha is nothing anyway. It is going to be a featureless world with little to do and people would just bitch about it.
I have alpha access and really couldn't give two shits if its delayed, I'm not looking forward to alpha I want the full game or at least something closer like Beta where there would be the foundation of the game with some features.
