World of Warcraft: The Adventure Continues Beginning Tomorrow

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The World of Warcraft site has been updated with a new blog post called "The Adventure Continues" that is a nice little write up of some of the additional features coming in tomorrow's v6.1 update. The post is designed to introduce players to some of the new content for their followers and themselves.

Players can look forward to:

  • Garona Halforcen as the first legendary follower

  • Bounty quests and professions quests, including new recipes, for players

  • Follower relic hunting

  • Daily dungeon and weekly raid quests that can reward an iLevel 655 token

  • A new vendor to spend resources on to upgrade follower gear to 675

  • A new "Treasure Hunter" trait that followers can earn

There's a lot coming in 6.1. You can check out the blog post here and the full patch notes on the World of Warcraft community site.

Too little too late.  Most of the people who bought the expansion have stopped playing.  This will not bring them back.

You would think they would at least attempt to make crafting viable again, but no, no such luck.  The idiocy factor is high at Blizzard atm.

This is hands down the worst expansion they have put out yet and I'm a rabid WoW fanboi! I don't have a clue what is going on at Blizzard it is like they are trying to destroy this game.

For every hater out there, there is someone else enjoying the game... Or 10 million... Give or take.

I think they've done a great job all things considered. There are quite a few returning players and server populations are very high. There's always something to do now and that's a huge draw for an old mmo. To each her own I guess.
  • I bought WoD,  played 1 month and left game. no way im coming back with that update.

Ah yes, WoW is dying, it's very sad to see a game with so few people playing. Poor Blizzard, no doubt their incompetence will drive them into Chapter 11. Their own damn fault, though, coming out with an expansion that was so bad it didn't raise the subscriber count at all.

To all those wearing rose tinted goggles out there...

Garrisons are not housing and I feel sorry for those enjoying to log on to play a crappy micro-management game most of the world plays during bathroom breaks.

Fact that stands as you protect your beloved game, most of the hate comes from players that would, without hesitation, jump back into some previous remnant of a game we used to love and support.

They could have made WoD epic like TBC was and it would have reached 12 million subs again - now I will not be surprised if subs go down with 1.5 - 2 million in the next quarter.

I think most of the original devs are gone that made those expansions or have moved on to other projects.  This team that is working now just plain sucks. I have never seen such half ass lazy design come from Blizzard like this I'm starting to think they have run out of ideas.

This entire expansion from the core features to the boring story just reeks of poor design and creativity.

That's hilarious considering they are still at 10million subscribers. Guess all those doom threads are dead from the facts of the situation.  No one's gone anywhere but people talk big don't they.

Activision is to blame for most of that. They didn't keep the talent they had by giving them incentive to stay so they ended up losing alot of good people. Even though Activision isn't in the scene the people they have right now I don't think have the ability to fix the problems the game does have, and I'll admit that they do have problems in this expansion but do I agree wit hthese doom posts? Mmmmm nope the numbers say otherwise. All these people posting how people are leaving this game left and right forget that they just did another count just before 6.1 and their numbers are still at 10 million. What's interesting though is that most people who support the F2P games out there are just insanely hype filled crazies and can't accept anything negative about their precious games but the moment that the elephant in the room makes a minor mistake they are all over it like flies on a pile of dung.

Well, that was their Q4 2014 report, we haven't had an update since then. I stopped playing this month (Feb), though I'm not going to be silly and cry about how WoW is horrible, it's not. But Blizz is known for resting on their laurels a bit much, so we'll see Q1 2015 brings.

Bought WoD and played for 2 months, thats all. I dont care if there are 10, 20 or 100m subs playing WoW. Talking as a player who played the game for almost 10 years and more than 10k hours, i can say that WoD imho is the worst expansion ever. It gets even worse with every twitter, selfie, garrison etc crap they add in the game and the lack of the real content.

I cant even talk about the non existent professions, the zero talent choices, the classes, the absent of new bg / arena and the list goes on.

Anyway i agree that tons of ppl still having fun playing it, so ofc its not the end of the world or the death of WoW. Despite that i think its the worst WoW expansion by a mile.

All Time Favorites: EQ1, WoW, EvE, GW1

Expansion 1, get into a guild and start raiding almost everyday untill you get the best gear. Then stand in town, put on some music and look cool.

Warcraft...such an amazing creation. They had it when wc2-3 got released. Then they started getting them bitches and got all them cool cars and stuff...people grow up, split, make them babies, getting a real job.. Its just...cruel.

Simply amazing. 99.9% of people posting there is no content in 6.1 have not completed the current content.

Oh wait.. I forgot.. they are all LFR Heroes..Great job completing LFR.

Because they listened to the top raiding guild and the Altoholics only. They give us improvements but they nerf at the same time the game. Now it is not fun for long to play the game. Remember here i did not say it is not fun at all, i said not fun for long.

You don't feel any reason for playing your characters anymore. Everything is too easy before max level, it takes no time at all to reach max level. Questing does not count anymore, Bg's full of boa players, arenas, etc same thing. Nothing is balance anymore before you reach max level, even Blizzard said so. So basically it is not about the adventure anymore but about how many characters you will get to max level and gear up in full in less amount of time possible. OR how much content can you see before your next sub is up.

I love the game and others also i am sure of it, but it is frustrating to see such a nice mmorpg getting nerfed and change into something so far off of what it used to be.

I have a hard time seeing how this expansion is any worse than Cata or Pandaria.

Sure the garrisons lose their shine quickly and some crafters hate how crafting now interacts with garrisons... but still... worse than a game called Warcraft making an expansion about pandas?  Really?

That said I guess you could say that content was a little sparse, but lets be honest that's about Activision siphoning off funds to pay for other projects.

When i heard about the follower thing, i was very excited. Turned out that the whole follower thing is nothing but a window you click around in to play a buggy RNG gimmick. It's the perfect example of smoke and mirrors sold as content.

Again another chance Blizzard missed. If followers would have been done right, this would be a killer feature. Too bad BLizzard can't do anything right anymore.

And i was hoping the misery ended when idiotcrawler left...

I felt it was the best expansion since WOTLK. I had fun for two months which is one month more than I can say for Panda and Cata. I quit playing because I don't raid or pvp anymore. I got two characters to 100 and maxed my garrison for the most part for both. If they would bring back the challenge level of Vanilla / TBC to the outdoor leveling i would still be playing.

4 garrisons 2 hours a day . I would rather do dailies. Also garrisons are lonely bah. Been playing 10 years not happy with this xpac.

Well I have 8 100's most with a plethora of crafted mats that i have no use for,  4 of which have been in every heroic instance except for the high end raid instances, which I will not do anymore.  I am the only person still playing in my guild, which had over 25 at the expansion release.  We have two others with accounts still active, but I never see them so I assume that is short lived.

It is a lot harder to find people to do instances anymore without doing the pickup group.

If they hadn't so borked the crafting, they might have a chance of keeping people.

If they got you to buy expac and one month sub...they are happy.

Why do people not understand that?.  If they can get you to sub for 2 or more months...they are VERY happy.

They have a core base that will keep subs for ever.  And buy every expac. All the people that come back for  expansions are gravy.  Box sales and maybe a month or 2 of subs? That is about all they expect out of them IMO.

This expansion pushed them back up to 10 million subs, even if temporarily, i would say they are quite happy with how it turned out.

Ingame world is too big, simple. Plus it is a lobby game.

The players out there are leveling....the lvl 100s are sitting in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, or in that village on that pvp island in Wod.

I love world pvp, there is none, usually you had good clashes in Southshore, lowlevels leaving Astranaar and walking into horde, Burning Steppes was always fun for pvp.

Too many zones, no objectives other then grinding armor.

My favorite BG, AV used to run for hours, epic fun, now it is just "hurry and kill the towers+boss and finish this game otherwise I won't reach my honor/hr ratio".

Arenas are a joke, so called elite pvp but it is nothing else then a dps backed up by a healer doing LOS games running around pillars.

Shame, Wow is just a lobbygame now with everyone doing speed battlegrounds or speedraids.

"going into arguments with idiots is a lost cause, it requires you to stoop down to their level and you can't win"
