I used to play on Great Lakes from about 1998 until somewhere in 2000. Things really started to go downhill when they introduced the different facets. I've tried to play on and off since then, but they keep changing things and I feel somewhat lost and left behind. I miss the old days! Too bad they don't have an oldschool server where the original version of the game is kept intact.

I played from the day it came out since I was lucky enough to have an uncle that knew the owner of EA, The game is still the best out there and I will always miss it. AND STOP LOOKING IN MY BAG YOU THIEFS THERES NOTHING IN THERE. Also Come on you PKs why did you have to kill my pack horse as well thats just not cool that thing cost me 500 gp... Hey peoples. I used to play UO around 98-99 but havent' really paid much attention to it since leaving.. can someone fill me in? what did they do to it? I was thinking about re joining but am having second thoughts since u guys played when I did and are all saying it is dead..
I'll be very disappointed if it is very much detached from what it once was. My favourite times had to include murdering people and robbing their house. Then hiding nearby when I had finished looting so I could take em out again when they came back with more reagents and armour. woohoo! hehe
Shoutouts to the Napa Valley Crew, my Characters were Sussudio and Hotdog and boy I sure did enjoy being a total bastard to many a player.
But also had many great friends. Yeah I was the type of player to kill your packhorse. Or steal picks from newbie miners and then whoop em with my x-bow when they tried to fight back :P ahh so many good memories and so many adrenaline rushes while looting people and escaping from a bunch of people out for revenge..

Go to where you buried your dead pet dig it up, play wtih him for a few minutes. If you think thats fun then go back to UO -- otherwise I'd reccommend leaving good memories the way they are.
Its a game alright , but its not Pre Ren UO by stretch of the word.
And Where the hell did my No Draw tile go. Damn you theifs leave me alone. Damn I miss this game, I think they should make a server with the orignal game on it. I wouldnt mind re-exploring the game. I wasn't a newb crafter by the way I was a GM =P someone had to be. I had to much fun when Orgin didn't feel like ruining my fun.
Fun Part 1 A tinker and his gems =P
Keep collecting gems then create a ring with them, it would only use 1 but say you made it with a pile of 10000 it would say the ring had 10000 diamonds on it hehe You could sell those for alot. I can't remember how many I had by the time they changed that. They shouldn't have changed this one though it was the only way a tinker could make money. Once they did they made my GM tinker skill useless.
Fun Part 2 House salesmen
Just sit in town looking for someone selling a house you know was underpriced buy it and re-sell it lol. By the time they changed it I had like 20 mill lol
Those were my big ones I cant really rember the other ones I did. But you gotta make money somehow. I didn't like it how they would make something rare then make it not rare 2 years latter buy making it a vet reward. Like Black dye tubs and what not.
I played from first release to today. I have a few characters on Atlantic. When the world split I think it was too much world and not enough players. Instead of the developers fixing the game they were more worried about bringing new players in. Alot of the veterans raised hell and left. Now Felucca is almost a ghosttown and Trammel banks are lagged with people AFK(banksitters) all the time.
They should have fixed the game instead of trying to make everyone happy. They lost the vision of what the game had become just to bring new people into the game. Now its mainly item harvesting and people showing off everything at the bank.

I have to say, i never played UO but that video was awesome. I start playing MMo'S late, my first one was DAoC. I wish i had played UO when i had the chance but never did. I also am a big fan of the skill system. I like how SWG had the skill system and i like EVE's skill system. Id rather play a system based on skill then a class/lvl mmo. I also will be looking forward to darkfall. So hope to see you all in Darkfall.

Well I got me a Gm mage/Gm Archer what we use to call battle mages .. Not only I started Fights with Pre cast "Vas Ort Flam" off the screen than ran in with a "Corp Por" and pulled out that good ol X Bow , man that was fun... Of course later on the Mage Developed into something more Pure Caster type . I still remember having my hand shake while I stood INvs in the X roads near Vesper Just waiting for someone to run by ...( yet something I havent felt in any pvp game out there , the true element of suprise ) I guess it was the old shcool rules of, you died you lost everthing nothing like that Noob add on later on that came out that you could Put Insurence on your items??? lol that was pretty dumm. I left U.O for a while, Came back a year or 2 ago...to run into I think whats called now Tamell Tarrel?? I just know that you cant PvP on one of them which I was shocked since everyone just played on that one.

I second that and agree. I have no clue why some developer wont buy the rights for UO2. Seems like a slam dunk there.
I cant even explain how angry it makes me that the true UO is dead. I guess Gaming today is just not for us old MMORPG grandpa's.
