Massively Poll CU VS CF
Poll must be wrong, Crowfall has a insane hype rating on here, unless that was just a lead up to the kickstarter with mmorpg.com manipulation? I mean never right? I mean "go live exclusive interviews" etc.. etc.. mmorpg.com never would collude to push a game right?

You get the idea.
The truth will only be known when the game(s) actually ship. Until then, they don't mean a damn thing.
CU has the DAOC crowd, which is a massive following.
But yah, polls... meh.
They are extremely different games. They really shouldn't even be compared to be honest.
I think people just like drama.
The way mmo's were: Community, Exploration, Character Development, Conquest.
The way mmo's are now : Cut-Scenes,Cut-Scenes, solo Questing, Cut-Scenes...

You have very keen observational skills and are very much in-tune with the realities of our world. I have also noticed that postings on the forums ALSO increase dramatically when a game is ramping up to something like a Kickstarter. You're right, though, it's waaaay too coincidental that the community could actually have any impact on these results. It must be an outside source.
It should be noted, though, that similar propaganda/paranoia posts were made during the KS campaign of CU, and pretty much every other game that anyone cares about. Nevertheless, you're probably right. It's illogical to think that someone could create a system that actually utilizes automated systems and cutting edge concepts like math to generate an arbitrary number with little or no relevance. Thanks for contributing to the Crowfall hype train though.

mmorpg.com is not a bad company. They stay out of posting what they think and leave most of the posting to fans. Even when miss information is posted they stay out of it. The ratings you see here are just from us clicking, more clicks higher rating. When a game releases lots of info or something big is happening, hype numbers go up because we are just clicking. mmorpg.com does not give their feedback on a game till its been out a few months. Before then, they just point at stuff and let us post and reply for the most part. CU and CF have been treated very well here as have most MMOs. Sure then have poked fun at a few things but sometimes you have to or your not human. Case: Like that MMO that it was just filled with 90% naked avatars with boobs way to big.
people that are interested in crowfall are hyped. I remember much more hype when CU had it's fundraiser.
I've backed both projects. My beef is with mmorpg.com's manipulation, and i am a bit bitter with how they treated CU people during that kickstarter, in fact. I think they almost removed CU from the game list.. Anyway, it is what it is. More pointless horrible articles from christina gonzalez i guess?

Crowfall just barely properly revealed itself, but it attracts a very large crowed, CU has been heard of for a while now allowing more and more players to learn about it. Gotta remember not everyone visits MMORPG.com or other gaming sites. Games like CU and Crowfall build its hype slowly since they are more on the niche side of things first by loyalist then be players interested in the type of game followed by casuals later when the game gets enough publicity.
That being said think Crowfall has alot more of offer then CU and looks great IMO. Very excited for Crowfall and you should help fund the kickstarter if you are interested in it!
Well for those that like risk vs reward they will have no interest in CU, but be interested in CF. They just target different game crowds.
Edit: Also I found the Massively crowd highly anti risk vs reward when talking about games such as Darkfall in the past. Much less hate on this site. It could just be that different types of MMO gamer go to the each site...not sure really.

It does, and it should. On the other side, the poll was made on the peak of Crowfall hype, which is also supported by Massively. I believe that CF would - for whatever it´s worth - made much less % if the poll was done just a couple of weaks or a month ago.
The games are different.
How different are they? CU has strictly RvR realms. There is zero player looting for CU. Crowfall on the other hand should have both an more impact full economy and much more risk vs reward in pvp. The games will have some overlap of playerbase but also there is enough difference in Crowfall that it will be able to draw people who CU will not be able to draw.
As to the poll I do not put much stock in it and chalk it up to reactionary CU fans. Case in point is how there has been a fair amount of threads started with the reactionary topics both here at mmorpg and at the Crowfall site (i.e.; "CU is better then CF" type promotions).
At this point I tend to lean towards Crowfall for many reasons that include, graphics, player looting option server sets, item decay, charcter models look imho better, and I like the overall vision of the Crowfall team more.
