ok you guys, enough is enough. To all you people who are doing nothing else then bashing the game. get the hell out of this forum section. people like BlueDagger and Brithwulf are doing nothing but bashing the game and trying to scare people away. when do you two realise there is a big diffrence between a fact and an oppinnion. you two played a korean mmo and expected a western mmo (Yes, I'f been reading your post close enough to see you two were expecting the wrong thing). so you don't like it, fine, this game is not for everyone. but instead of just leaving a message "hey , I didn't like the game because.." people like you are bashing the game in every topic here. even starting campains to bring the game down. and lets stop the silly comments "it will be dead in a few weeks" to yourself, as you and I both know that isn't true, because, if YOU (OPPINNION!) liked it or not, the game is too good for that. its going the same route as Lineage 2, not a big cashbreaker in west, but enough to make a profit of. so I'm simply asking you to open your eyes, realise your oppinnion is not a fact,and just go find another game.

They have a right to say it is a bad game, the only people upset over it are the ones who love it. I for one won't be paying for it. It brings NOTHING new to the table, heck it has less features than most MMORPGs, including an option to ignore players. Also, Codemaster support for any of the games they publish is almost always crap. They never gave out the map editor for Soldiers: Heroes of WW2 citing that the multiplayer patch took all their time, but it still doesn't work without opening ports!
Maybe those of us who are having a bad experience are just trying to save others the misery we've been though?
Perhaps we hope that our whines and complaints will actually be acknowledged by CM and fixed?

Just to point out a few key points from you post ...

Well I can't speak for Brithwulf, but I have played both eastern and western games and was not expecting WoW. What was expecting though was a BETA test where bugs were identified and fixed which so far has not happened. Also if you classify a "Korean" MMO as one that has coding that encourages KSing, has no point but a zergfest RvR post lvl 25, and the first 30 lvls are pointless... then you got me there...

Hmm... I believe in 90% of my topics I posed a good point such as don't pre-order, which is especial true now that the game has free beta access through fileplanet even though people preorder month in advance for a chance at a slot. The pricing of the game per month is just silly as you yourself stated it is "going the route of lineage 2" which if memory serves correct has a free server.. oh and GW which has no monthy fee. Also I do believe I listed a point by point flaws in the game such as crafting that serves no purpose til post 30.

Hmmm open my eyes, funny I thought that meant seeing other peoples opinions and not saying things like "get the hell out of this forum section" as I'm a beta tester nd I'm posting about things I have seen about the game. Never did I saw they are fact nor fiction and that is up to the read to deside. In my opinion yes the game will lose the interest of most of the people that are pulled in by the marketing for the game and after 2 weeks will make up their mind to stop playing. It is a fact that KSing will be a huge issue upon release and one that I doubt GMs will be able to deal with sololy, but yes this is my "(OPPINNION!)". Like the poster said before me this is a discussion area for the game therefor I'm discussing the game, if you have an issue with this the flame me all day and remember BlueDagger is spelt with a capital B and a capital D.

Second, this game has been in "phase" beta for nearly a month now and not a single issue has truely been addressed, except faulty text game wide that should have been fixed before beta even was released.
Third, with a game with as much content as WoW I would hope there is bugs in the beta, but the number of bugs in RF Online 7 days before release with no content because it's a Korean MMO (which btw has been release for over a year now) should not have this many.
Lastly, as your last sentence is nearly impossible to understand I'm guessing that your making some kind of gay joke, which with your level of posting doesn't surprise me, so let me speak a language you understand STFU noob

People like Bluedagger are an assest to the gaming community. They speak the truth and give us all fair warning. RF online good or not is going to have people fighting both sides, and since these forums are for everyone to share their opinions its only fair to hear both arguments. Why do you want the critics silenced? You gotta take the good with the bad, grow up, and stop acting like a baby.
there is a big diffrence with giving a voice to your oppinnion and bashing a game. what BlueDagger does falls under bashing, not just giving an oppinnion.make no mistake, I like discussions, but if someone has the "noble" idea to prevent people from "wasting" their money on a game...

First, I don't know where you are from, OP, but at least in THIS part of the world we have free speech and none has to right to forbid saying opinion.
Second, many of those who say RFO as it is now is a game with many bugs and problems explain so in great details. ALL I ever hear from the fanbois is "the game is great" with not details whatsoever why the fatures are good as they are now.
It is simply a fact that RFO has less of everything compared to ANY other MMO on the market. You can't ignore this truth that you simply get a LOT more for your money from EVERY other MMO, if RFO really goes live in this state. If you deceive people telling otherwise this is untrue.
Many problem and bugs are simple facts, and not opinion or subjective. A non-config UI, only 3 classes for 30 long levels, only 2 attacks for 30 long levels, quests with are far too high when you get them and give worthless items when you can do them, crashes all 30 mins, login problems, close to nonexistend char custumization, bad translations ... the list is endless. Those are not opinions, those are facts that no fanboi can explain me as "working as intended".

To this one, I do make an appology. I checked his info after reading this and he was from singapore, so yeah I screwed up on that one. From the way he was writing it made him sound like a 13 boy, whos best come back is "dude your gay".

Also, enough with "It's a beta, it will get better". The game has been out for years in Korea, so any major fixs or gameplay changes have to come from them, which means Codemasters has to translate it. Codemasters can only change minor things, not that they do much anyway, horrible support. Let me list the good and bad of this game:
Good: Graphics.
Bad: Everything else.
It lacks the basic features that even most low budget MMOs have. It doesn't even do anything new, or improve on anything! But if for some crazy reason you enjoy killing tons of the same mob with auto attack for hours and PVP that is just like WoW's pvp, then this is the game for you.
I dont know how many MMORPGS you have played but most (not all) have you doing pointless quests and killing monsters 2 billion times just to get to the end game PVP, so what makes this one any worse. Really i think its a great game and i have to say that its PVP is alot better than WOWs.
Just want to know one thing, are you mainly a WOW player ?

OK, a few facts, not opinions:
1. Potion spamfeast. I can beat an enemy that checks 6 dots higher than me. Coupled with the fact that there is no cooldown on potions and they are relatively inexpensive, there is no challenge to this game.
2. Only 5 concurrent active quests and you get a new quest every level. Before I realized about potion spamathons I was missing out on quests because I didnt think I was high enough to beat the required mobs. As the next quest appears it would make inactive the oldest quest.
3. All quests are identical (so far). No quests to explorer, locate etc. They are all kill 20 mobs.
4. There are dispropotionately powerful enemies in the newb areas mixed in with level appropriate mobs.
Now for the opinions:
Eye Candy. Having oversized glowing weapons from the get go looks great, but doesnt give you anything to look forward to visually.

Constant, iv done it twice and this time it was relevant because the post i was quoting was also talking about WOW, learn to read you fool. Your really quite anoying the way you post replies that make no sense at all, i actually cant belive you are serious when you type this stuff because it just looks like somthing that someone trying to prove they where stupid would type. Infact at first i thought you where about 12 years old but then i read your user info and saw that you where 25, but then i thought maybe you put your IQ in your age section by accident, i mean that would be an easy mistake for you becasue afterall you have already proved you cant read properly.

There is always one (or more) who flames the crap outta every new game that comes out, for many reasons - they either don't like change or they just like to be noticed by being a grumpy idiot - hell, they probably even send letters to TV stations complaining about a program they watched, when all they had to do is turn over

God, I'm a popular guy when it comes to personal attacks these days lol, so let me begin...
1) "everyone else who bashes this game to go screw off" - yes, some people are bashing this game, but guess what... that is what these boards are for. Myself and severly other have listed time after time key points with the game where it has issues. So, far all I have seen from good side is "after 25/30+ the game gets good" and "the graphics are sweet". The arguement that the game is "PvP not PvE" is null and void as to even do PvP in this game and not get one shotted you have to be lvl 30+, hence why the game is considered a grindfest by many.
2) "whoever the hell said 'maybe we are just trying to prevent other people from wasitn money on a game'" - Yes, I want to prevent people from wasting money on the game as there are better titles on the horizon and CM is on a marketing spread to try and sell the pre-order with beta when fileplanet is giving away free betas. Yes, I did just mention a free beta as I would encourage anyone to play the game for free to make up their own view on the game, but don't waste $ on shipping to pre-order just for a beta slot. oh and... "who am I to decide that?" well any half brain moron that has a brain with free will knows that all posts on these boards are opinion, if you can't see that then I pitty you.
3) "If you want to prevent someone from playing it why don't you mention how many people are loving the game?" - ... did you even proof read this sentence?
4) "Or mention that its your opinion, and you know plenty of people who like it." - Refer to #2 and hell, here you go forum readers... http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/rfonline/ this use to be a link for the open beta, but after pre-order being PISSED CM cut off beta slots
5) I have posted many flaws with the game so to appease you I shall list them here again...
A) KSing: The game has a kill shot rule for quest credit. Since the spawn areas are so small there has been and will be rediculous complaints with kill stealing to the point that unless a GM is at every spawn point nothing can be done.
C) Leveling: This is an eastern MMO so grind is a big part of the game, and right now the xp gained is 3x that of the eastern versions of the game. If you have to grind the first 25 lvls of the game on over camped mobs due to so few spawn grounds, at least make it interesting. In RF you use potion after potion while grinding and constantly use you only 2 attacks over and over and over for the first 30 levels of the game... fun times...
D) Crafting: The crafting system is pointless till you get to making 30+ items as there are no vendors for 30+ armor. No one wants to buy the gear or weapons you make till past lvl 30 as there is vendors for that and you can not make intense lvl gear. The advance ammo you craft cost so much more ingredients then the regular stuff that the prices you have to sell at are silly like 7K for 100 rounds. Also the failure rate for crafting seems almost 60-70% failure rate and each successful crafting gives very very minimal point boost.
E) Character Custimization: There is next to none, so if you like an original character look elsewhere.
F) Weapons catagories: The Weapons in games are stacked by lvls, so if you are use to a game where you pick your favorite weapon and stick with it through the game, then once again looks elsewhere. The weapons become about "Ok what's the highest DPS for this lvl" except for if you want a shield then it's "What's the highest one hand DPS". For dual weild weapons you don't really "Dual Weild" weapons it is just a certain type of weapon like "Sword Breakers" that place one in each hand.
G) Chip Wars: The chip wars are the central battle in the game where you fight against the other races to take someone else's "chip" by destroying a ground station. I am an american and I can say in most american played games I have seen people don't have much of a skill for focused fire, so the battle becomes a tactless zerg fest. One race runs at another only for a save few to survive and maybe do 2% damage to a chip before the defeated race zergs back at them. This is the only real PvP besides a gank of high lvls killing lvl 20s in Sette desert, so I doubt it will carry the game for a long time. Also, since the servers are shared with all of north america and europe the times of these wars are poorly placed.
H) Patch and Fixes: The game is made by CCR from Korea and CM has no rights to edit code in game except for localization. Even people that played the other version of the game say that the translation has been horrible and CM has done a poor job porting. People that played the Philippians version of the game had their IPs banned so they would be forces to play the CM version and most of the them are pissed. Any bugged issues right now have to be relayed through CCR for fixes then implimented by CM and if issues occur then they have to go back to CCR... making fix times for bugs pathetic. Patches for the game and new content added will be ridiculously delayed by this process.
I) Economy: The money in this game is made by two sources mining and farming. Sounds normal right? Guesss again, the game is tailored so that you will have to AFK mine all night to keep up with potions if you want to level the next day. If you don't keep logged in 24/7 you are at a severe disadvantage. Don't want to mine? Sure, there is farming for you... but oh wait, after lvl 30 you get next to no loot fighting worthwhile mobs. Of course lvling 30+ you still have to potion spam costing you plenty of cash and the extra # of people farming low lvl mobs just puts more pressure on lower lvl people trying to complete their kill X number of Y mobs.
J) Partying: Parties are many used while grinding ACE mobs or leveling up your points skills. Partying for quests is pointless as due to the killshot rule you have to fight within your group to get credit for you quest in pickup groups. If you are helping a friend complete their quest you have to attack the mob till it's close to death then everyone has to pull of the enemy so the one person can get the killshot... all while dodging kill stealers.
K) Leveing Points in Healing) While there are no true healers in the game ther are buff that let you regen HP and SP faster. What do you have to do to level it? Cast it over and over and over and over till you fingers bleed. After lvl 3 of the spell the point % gain from the spell is absolutely rediculous and you pretty much have to spend scountless hours at the AFK miners casting it. If you like spamming skills 24/7 then this is a game for you.
L) Current Bugs: There are many current bugs with the game that are way too long to list here, so for those check out the beta forums. CM will most likely not have them fixed by release at this rate as the beta isn't really a beta it's a stress test.
The graphics are good I will give the game that. I love the anime feel to the game and it has a lot of potential, but IN MY OPINION it will never become what anyone wishes it will be and it will flop hard. I hope this post fills the voids that anyone was feeling, have a nice day.
