I'm particularly interested in RP vids (both MMORPG and non-MMORPG). I love seeing how RPers use their imaginations to stretch and expand the boundaries of games, to tell stories that liven and go beyond the static ones already in game. Am currently working on making my own RP adventure vids in such a way.
I like "behind the scenes" videos and such. I much prefer seeing and hearing developers talking about their games. I love HiveLeader's videos, but I hope he doesn't turn into a constricted vehicle for advertisement. Let him do his thing. I like RipperX's videos if it is a topic I'm interested in. MMOFTW is a nice serial to keep us in the know.
I don't think the videos have to be studio quality. I'd actually prefer they were not. Anyone can get a free copy of Lightworks and figure it out with a few hours of noodling. That, a 40$ mic, and some good content is all you need.
It would also be fun to see your faces, picture-in-picture, as you are presenting. Lastly, I think the videos should be companions to the articles. Maybe there is one paragraph about crafting in a new game, and if you'd like to know the details about this feature watch the in-depth video above.
Lastly, 5-15 minutes is also the sweet spot for me. Many of us watch these videos while playing a game, sitting on the couch, or on our lunch break on our mobile device.
I'd rather play a game than watch someone else play it.

I love a good written article much more than a video. A short but concise article can give you much more basic facts, information about background correlations and the author's evaluation about it than a video. You can read a text on your own pace more than a video.
The only times I watch gaming videos is about new games in beta test. Trailers are too much polished and they rarely give information about the how the gameplay feels like, about the ui and other game options.
From beta test videos by an independent 3rd party I expect an overview about how the game world looks like, how the ui looks like, how the characters look like and, most important, how things are animated. Not only combat animation, but crafting animation, pet and mount animation, travel animation and so on.
Oh, and game videos should tell about the sound management too. Not only background music but the world sounds: Sounds of crafting, walking, talking to npcs, weapon sounds, combat sounds, mount and pet sounds.
I love games where sounds have a meaning. For example a dangerous mob can be identified by its roar before you actually see it.
At last: For me, a game video shouldn't be more than 5 minutes. I'd rather watch a few rather short videos than one long video.

I always watch HiveLeader, even if the game is crappy, his videos always have some fun elements in them and are thus entertaining.
On rare occasions he also DO hit a good point or two...
