dunno about you ... I spent a year in it before Gamma islands were introduced and liked it ... but I enjoyed EVE Online for several years so I am biased :-)

Its a good game but they are very slow at patches and sadly very few people are playing it right now. I beleive what they need to do is introduce more bots and large weapons.(currently small and medium in game). People got bored with it as they just dont have the manpower to provide alot of fresh content. That being said there is enough to keep a new player busy for a 6-12 month stretch but be ware finding a group to play with will be difficult. You can play for free though and paying doesnt give you great advantage like other games.

My impression is that its an Eve clone. And I don't use that word often.

Likely you are better off playing Eve unless you absolutely have to play a game with mechs.

I hate mechs but the enviroment they made in that game is my favorite of all, look's so old school alien robo tech style.

But i am afraid of the content and the whole game experience as an online game , i really hate to waste my time , other option i have is darkfall.

Lineage 3 would have been pretty awesome or a 18 + starcraft mmo but that's just a dream and we are getting old without playing a really good mmo at the momment

I played perpetuum for several years from alpha on, I can say I had an absolute blast back then playing and dominating with a large group of friends. However as years went on the game slowly lost it's appeal, the playerbase started to die off, and most of my friends I had been playing with for years started moving on to other games, eventually I followed suit, and likely will never return to the game.

I can't say what the game is like these days personally, since I haven't touched it in nearly a year. And when I look back at the game, I'm honestly not sure the game was all that good, bur rather the people I played with was what made it special.

I used to talk to all the developers over skype, and early on they actively added new stuff all the time, that eventually tapered off to the point that the game was essentially on life support, which may have been what lead to the game's eventual demise. (It's technically still running, but almost noone plays it, and I don't think it's really developed anymore.)

To find an intelligent person in a PUG is not that rare, but to find a PUG made up of "all" intelligent people is one of the rarest phenomenons in the known universe.

I grabbed it off Steam on sale. I liked it, but I stopped playing and can't be bothered to re-learn the thing. But I recall a few fun nights exploring for sure.

takes a while to progress past a wheeled robot to a mech. I certainly didnt stick around that long tho

Our corp in Perpetuum is a gaming group.  But many of us play Perpetuum.  We also play in EVE as well.  Is Perpetuum worth it?  Very much so.  As you pay for a account once and the Perpetuum account is yours.  Feel free to look up Ambedrake in Perpetuum.  Tell him Heartless sent you :-D  Any of you new Perp players can and will get the hook up.  The learning curve is steep. Just like EVE!
