ok ive been playing swg for 2 years and i quit jan 3 of this year due to the NGE.to all the people who quest and are not comeing back,i salute you.to the people who dont like the NGE and CONTINUE to give SOE yore hard earned money,WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!?why are all of you paying for a game your probly not haveing fun with!?!?why are you STILL supporting SOE!?!?you seen what JT said in his letter "80% of the people who are still playing were here befor the NGE".QUIT THE GAME!and dont come back!!make SOE learn what thay are doing to SWG!!!SWG was once a GRATE game,but if you guys keep giveing soe your money,your just supporting there NGE.

if you like the NGE,keep playing.but if you dont like the NGE and are continuing to pay them in hopes that thay will bring back PRE-CU or even CU,use your head!there not going to do that unless thay see something like sub's go down ALOT.i SOO want to post this on the SWG forums but i will not give them another penny,meaning im just saying "HEY GO AHEAD AND MESS UP THE GAME ONE MORE TIME!,CUZ AFTER ILL STILL GIVE YOU MY MONEY SO YOU CAN DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN!"some of you are hardcore star wars fans i know...but there are many other MMO games out there or what ever your into.do yourself a favor and log off SWG for good.this post is ment for the people still playing SWG,not the ones who already quit...

Woah, calm down there tiger. Most people who post here no longer play or have accounts they cancelled but are yet to run out. There are very few posters here who actually stilll play and continue to resub.

Just curious but where do you think people should vent their angers? Personally I would rather it happen in a forum than at the person driving/walking next to them on the streets.

I still play because of the people. I have many friends in game. Many others have left, but I stay in contact with them. SWG for me always was more about the community than the game.

You may not like SWG anymore. Or you may be an addict on your cold turkey trip out. But what I do with my money is my own decision, as is the reason why I still play SWG.

So ... there is nothing wrong with "us people" ... only with YOUR attitude.

While you are correct in that what you do with your money is your decision Erillion, do you still enjoy the game somewhat? Or do you play just for the people. If so, why not just have your close group of friends and move on to another, more enjoyable game? If all you want to do is stay in touch, go into ICQ, create a yahoo group (which my guild did), create your own forum, etc... But supporting a game that is little more than garbage, run by people who repeatedly lie to you and dangle a carrot in front of you to sucker you into giving them more money, is just wrong!

some of us that are not fans of the NGE derailment had been holding on to a dream that the accountants and business units would try to clue in the developers of the game and the hoilder of the IP that is starwars.

not going to happen i guess.

on the brighter side of things, i am gettign to teach my boys that yoda was right and now we (them and I) need to move on, to seek out new life, etc.

I short when my 9 year old does not like a game, and wants to know why it is not the same game as he longed on to the day before. well you get the picture.

Everytime I read that I get just as angry, WTF is wrong with people not understanding what really happened?

If you (anyone) has not played SWG since pre-CU, or has not heard of it even, don't post your opinions upon how us old veterans who LIKED the game is supposed to feel and act.

This is NOT a normal case of "i don't think the game is fun anymore I am gonna quit now" case! This is a case of a game which was loved by many and suddenly without any warnings got taken away from us and turned into the direct oposite of what it was.

Then the developers basicly laugh at us, all this leaving many players out in the open not finding any game that could replace the old SWG.

So all you out there who have opinions please don't say anything more before you have been there, I will never dissapear and will do everything I can do to make the company have a rough day.

If you quit for the reason they "took" the game you enjoyed and ruined it for "you" then you have a right to respond in such a manner. Its one thing to not enjoy something from the start, or to become bored over time with a game. Its entirely different when a decision to radicially redo a game occurs and you as a paying customer with 100's-1000's of hours invested along with a few hundred bucks are excepted to swollow it without a peep. Sorry if that is not acceptable to "you".

I happen to think its a reasonable response to what has been done. More flaming of soe/la need to occur until they learn there lesson, which clearly they have not yet learned.

Good post Erillion, and let me tell you, for what is worth, my opinion of you has changed.

However, let me comment on this statement, not completely directed at you, because it also came up on a post on Malick...

Just because I've quit playing SWG does not mean that I'm not entitled to talk about it anymore. I was in this game a long time, I've seen it through it's ups and downs and I've tried a lot of the "content" that was in it. I'm just as qualified as you, Malick or anyone else to call what's good GOOD and what's bad BAD! When new features are added into the game (if that ever happens), I'll shut up about them, unless I decide to create a trial account and try it for myself. I NEVER post about Jedi because I never played a Jedi, the closest I got was becoming FS for the crafting benefits... However if I want to post about how there are too many Jedi in the game, I will because I've witnessed it, experienced it and I'm entitled to my opinion, just as you.

Everyone's opinion here is valid as long as it's respectful to that of others, from the one's whom never played but want to comment on what they see from the outside, or the antics of SOE, to the opinion to those who've quit, to the ones who still play.

Hi Duncan,

essentially what you say is right - everyones opinion is valuable (with the possible exception of flame-bait troll posts).

However - experience on this (and other) forum(s) has shown to me that often enough arguments degenerate into quotes like "Shut the f*ck up, you have no idea what you are talking about, you no longer play !" I prefer to be able to counter these arguments with the fact that i AM still playing and that i DO usually know what I am talking about.

I did play for a while wih nge parts of it i liked and parts of it i hated. Besides combat and specials being inconsitant at best, and refusing to do any more repeatble quests. My Account will go on hold after the 17th.

I tried wow i just never could get in to it. I made it up to mid 20s got hit with some death bugs there and now looking and some old console games. I think i had my fill of mmorpgs for a while.

I agree with the OP. My accounts are cancelled ... unless things change drastically. Cancelled does not mean i can't go back. But what i am doing is making a statement that i am no longer going to pay for major changes every moth and total revamps every 6 months.

Why don't you just go back to your NGE and read the forums THERE? You don't belong here. Get it?

We are here because we don't play and we can post here. Who they hell are you to come into a non SOE/LA forum and tell us to stop posting?

I happen to agree with the OP. I think it is stupid to stay just because of the community especialy since most have left. But you can always make new friends ... from the few that are joining and before they quit. But .... it is sad that you don't have a life or RL friends to take up that time you would have ordinarilly be spenting on SWG.

But you are right ... you can spend your money anyway you want. So why are you here and not playing SWG?

Play EVE - its a good Sci Fi addition (or substitute) for SWG. Free download free trial. No reason NOT to try it out. Check out the videos !

I am not sure why people think having online friends automatically means that people DONT have friends in real life. I have many friends in BOTH "worlds" and enjoying spending time (in whatever way) with all of them.

Well I have been asked before how I can defend a game which i myself said back on inclusion of the jedi was ruined and cancelled(whats that now 2+ years?).

Not defending the game at all but i feel that one major problem all the general mmorpg type forums have is its filled with ranters who really have nothing constructive to say but tend to repeat themselves over and over again(aka ranting).

If you have something to say about a game say it once ,if u must,then move on.Let those having fun with the game discuss ingame issues and exchange knowledge.
