Trove maybe? it's hard to find sandbox mmo type out is funded by a cash shop or dead in the water needed more funding like The Repopulation can try that not sure they will go very far never know.
Ryzom? Lots of crafting, player crafted gear, foraging system related with seasons, weather, daylight cycle. Classless skill system. Older sandbox mmo, not much questing. Ok, game can be grinding, no denying that, but can be addictive with this.
You build your char by picking race, age and size. Then you learn the skills you wanna use in any combination you want. Lots of potential to create a completly unique character. And dont even get me started on the crafting system. you can puzzle handles and blades and other weaponheads any way you want and choose between hundreds of farmable materials. there are entire guilds that does nothing but trade their own top notch crafted gear.
it is full loot which gives exciting pvp and a territory control system for those who want to conquer the world.
if you are heavily into PVP, try albion, eve, or darkfall
to me eve is the best of the three, but i like all 3. if you want something with less pvp try eldevin or old ff11. ff11 has a main story quest running through it but outside of that you are on your own, and crafting is a big deal in that game.
RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.
Currently Playing EVE, ESO
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed.
EVE is the only answer that fits for me. I've been waiting a long long time since the last good sandboxes were released. The last huge swath of "sandboxes" (AA,Darkfall,Mortal, insertfailurehere) Have just not been up to par. EVE is the only one left, EVE is the only one that will stay, EVE is the only one that really matters.
it's oke if it's not yet available now (Coming Soon)..
i'd love to like Crafting, Life Cycling, Yeah War, Something like that.. not just grinding Quest..
I suggest looking at Pathfinder Online.
This is not a recomendation exactly since I just got a buddy key myself and dont really know.. However, its a sandbox, no P2W and a sub game.
If you can handle the bare bones skeleton of a game (the current state) and keep in mind the graphics and content will be updated and much ofthe things in game currently are placeholder-Give it a try. Sofar (1 day) its looking like this may be a fit for me and ive been looking for exactly the same as you for sometime.
There's a thread around here somewhere to get a buddy key for a 15 day triial. Check it out.
Also every game is Pay to Win - I can go and spend $5000 on a kick ass WoW account right now - same goes for ANY game on the market because all of them have folks that sell accounts.
Money can be thrown as an advantage in just about every game regardless of pay model
Big difference when the game itself condones it. But that is a topic we've already been down multiple times. Just want to remind people that there is a difference.
I'm in the same boat. I'd recommend Gloria Victis even though it's still essentially Alpha. You can pay what you feel like paying in order to get access. Many features aren't in or complete. Map is small, as is player base - although they are both expanding.
I just got burned out since there is a lack of anything to do at the moment, once you've done it all. A problem a lot of these Alpha/Early Access games have, I feel.
