I was running 2 subs, WoW and SWTOR. My wife and I just bought a house, had our first child and bought a new car. There is no longer room in our budget for my $30 a month gaming expense.
I have played both Rift ( I have characters at 51 and 57) and Guild Wars 2 ( I have a level 42 and a bunch lower). I am thinking about going back to one of these. I probably will not play SWTOR because their FTP is awful.
I will not have as much time for gaming as I used to this is why I would like to choose one instead of playing both.
I like to PvP mainly with some PvE on the side and I am an alt-aholic. I have not played either Rift or Guild Wars 2 for a long time. Can you guys and gals help me decide???
What do you like/dislike about the games? What do the games do well/not so well?
Thanks!!!!
PS - I know they are both free (I obviously own GW2) but I would like to get some opinions from people playing the games rather then try to relearn both games all over again before making my decision.

If you prefer PvP then its a no brainer - GW2. Its also great for alts as almost all is account wide.
Thanks for your input.
Are you certain there is no 30bucks that can be mustered up some how?Drinking habits, smoking habits, all can be tossed away with little will power.I know the newspaper here costs 30 bucks a month and is not needed. How about gambling, are you buying lottery tickets every week, renting movies you don't need to be renting.there is a long list of wasted money that every household goes through. My cable bill alone is well over 200 every month, like around 260-280 and that is not needed ,not by a long shot.
If you and your wife have fun together passing time in games in your spare time,i highly recommend you find that 30 bucks, rather than stoop to playing something you don't enjoy.
Me personally,i quit GW2 the first day,Rift i lasted a few weeks off and on then just couldn't take it anymore,so for long term gaming i would not recommend either.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Here's an idea, drop your internet, then you'll have plenty of money for online gaming!
My wife doesn't game so that definitely factors into the decision. I have been with my wife for 12 years married for 3. All that time I gamed. So it's not only cutting back on the cost but also cutting back on the time I spend gaming. Where I used to play anywhere from 3-6 hours a day, I will be playing more like 1-2 hours (maybe more if I am lucky) on the weekends. During the week there just isn't time anymore. When I pay monthly subs I feel like I HAVE to play, since I won't be able to play as much I don't feel like I should be spending money.
