Gazillion's touting the recent addition of Iceman to its superhero-themed MMO Marvel Heroes 2015 as evidence of its attentiveness to community requests and as such, has made him available via the Iceman Hero Pack.
Players can obtain the "coolest" Marvel hero for $17.99, as well as the ability to use his Ice Beam, Ice Sled, Wave of Icicles, Ice Golem and "goofy ice-related quip" powers.

Are they all asleep or did they go back to, you know, not existing?
They used their own forums to hype and drum up the votes. Now that the links are down, they are gone.
Same old content, more heroes. With each hero the power creep and gap between the old heroes expands. This is not a game anyone will take serious long term. The fans are toxic and some of the most sycophantic white knights I've ever seen in a game. The devs are good folks, the fans are rabid and do not take well to criticism. Which, leads to hostile chat and a wickedly toxic community.
18 bucks for a character?
Is that a typo?

That's the bundle price for Iceman as well as his Age of Apocalypse costume. The character alone is 900G's ($9) or 400 Eternity Splinters. So that's not TOO bad IMHO.
Looking forward to trying him out soon.
Yeah their prices for single hero packs are nuts. But you can unlock any hero you really want just by playing. Those packs are really just a way to reward the devs. Most people just buy big packs of heroes or unlock them in game.
Trolls will be trolls. This game has improved a ton and it is fun. Every character can be earned for free in-game and it add content all the time.
I bet this guy never even played the game when he made this comment and if he has he's just trolling. This game has one of the best and most helpful communities I've ever seen in an MMORPG.
So Captain America and Hulk, two of the top 3 "overpowered" heroes are new releases?
They have just been playable since Beta. . .
Criticize all you want, but don't spread misinformation and expect the "rabid Fanboi's" not to call you on it. . .
My bet is their to busy playing the game to come here to these forums. . .
There's sum truth in the parts in yellow though if you think about it for a sec.
The rest of the post is pretty trolly though.
It's all about preference. The content is slowly progressing where heroes take shorter amount of time. There are things like one-shots, a new raid is releasing. And they are still trying to perfect the endless dungeon format. Diablo 3 has a huge following and that has the same bland content with just adding new items here and there. MH triples that. But preference many people can't get pass the hero theme. Some players prefer to play Arpgs in a different style. Hell I still love TL2 and play it every now and then. But to knock someones love or preference of a game is rude. Yes every game has over the top fanboys but MH is just as much as a contender in the ARPG realm as POE, Diablo 3, Grim Dawn, TL2 or any arpg happening right now. Mind you I don't even really play this game all that much anymore. Guess I am waiting for a really intriguing character. Have a bunch of 60s who don't spark my interest that much anymore
What? One of the game's strengths is its great community. The only time I've seen things get toxic is when somebody starts talking about religion or politics in chat, which is hardly exclusive to MH. There are plenty of critical posts on their forums, heck there's an extremely negative one regarding the addition of additional crafting mats on the test server. As long as you're not overly rude with your criticism, most people are fine with it.
You have a point about power creep, and a lot of the fans agree with you. Though it's not as bad as it's made out to be, it's definitely an issue which needs to be addressed.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

MH generally has one of the nicest communities I've seen in an MMO, and I played a lot of MMOs. My theory is that this is because the game mechanics themselves encourage everyone to help each other and there's nothing competitive. PVP is entirely just-for-fun so there's no bitterness ta losing rewards or items to someone beating you (for the few that are into PvP), there's no loot-stealing, no mob stealing... you only have to gain by having other players around you because loot remains the same yet enemies get easier to kill with other players assisting. And players can reach the boss and then invite 3 other random strangers straight to the boss too. There's also minimum trading so there isn't much worry about scammers or being outbid or underbid by others or competing against other players in an economy.
TL;DR: No competitive aspects whatsoever and lots of "you benefit from others being around" aspects = less toxic community.
The one exception to this is raids, where sometimes toxicity happens if some people start screwing up too much. The current raid in the game isn't really hard enough for that to be a major issue, though.
As for why no MH players are posting here... probably for similar reasons why WoW players didn't post here much (until the latest expansion pack, to complain about it). Most people come to outside forums to vent frustrations (for various reasons. Venting your frustrations to people already playing the game on a forum moderated by the guys you're venting about has limitations, to say the least). The few frustrations I see most people have with MH are things that are difficult to explain to or garner emphathy from people who aren't already playing the game and thus stay on the MH forums, far as I can tell. For example, I doubt the average non-MH player can fully understand or care about the esoteric "power creep" problem with the game right now.
(as an aside, the power creep problem isn't "new heros". It's "Newly reviewed heros AND new heros". Which is why Cap and Hulk are also top tier now, as they recently got a review pass. It also doesn't apply to ALL new heroes or new hero reviews. Just most of them. It does make the ones who don't get caught up in it look like they got a raw deal though. Like Winter Soldier who's new but is average tier at best compared to many other new or newly reviewed heros)
I'd guess that $5 a month for storage may be more than enough after a while. And if you didn't care too much about trading or saving items you could easily get by with less.
Their entire monetization scheme requires them to pump out new heroes and costumes to the detriment of content and added gameplay options. But it isn't competing with any ARPGs that are pumping out more content anyway so who cares. It's also lacking in hardcore/elite content but again they don't seem to care about that market.
D3 could bury the ARPG competition if Blizzard invested more into it, but they seem happy with it just crawling along and selling boxes every couple of years. POE is poorly polished and that's never going to change.
There's nothing toxic about the in game or official forum community. I have no idea where he got that from.
Sadly, this is true when you think about it. There is practically NO MONEY whatsoever for them for someone who sticks to a single hero doing new content as it gets released. Maaaaybe costume sales, but only if you buy costumes for that hero. Maaaaaaaybe exp potion boosts but odds are anyone sticking to one hero isn't worrying much about min maxing omegas. Maaaaybe storage space but if you're sticking to just one hero, you probably don't need that much storage space. And we'll file "new team ups" under "one hero" too. Ditto for pets (basically, if you're sticking to just one or a few heros, you're probably also sticking to just one or a few pets and team-ups).
There is a little money in reviewing old heros though, because that at least encourages people who don't have them yet to go buy them. As many have noted, most newly-reviewed heros tend to be top tier in the power creep.
For anyone who quit due to a lack of new content as opposed to the current focus of new heroes and team-ups, I have to wonder just how much money they would have given Gaz in the future anyways (this is NOT meant to be derisive of those people. I'm speaking just matter of factually). Because if you aren't going to buy new heros, team-ups, and pets, and already brought the storage you need, you probably aren't buying that much in the future in general.
Perhaps this is a flaw with the monetization process... but I'd rather have it than the horrible and manipulative models most F2P games have.
It's also true though that it's not like there are any competing ARPGs releasing more content. If you count raids and one-shots as content, I think Marvel Heroes still introduced more new content than Path of Exile did so far (although PoE will catch up once Act 4 finally hits........ eventually). Probably not as much as Diablo 3 but only because that's including Diablo 3's expansion as "new content" and I'd be kinda surprised if D3 ever releases another expansion after that.... like, ever. (Marvel Heroes, meanwhile, does have a new chapter down the pipeline)
