Final Fantasy XIV shop (flare)

in Final Fantasy XIV

Hi guys new player here and enjoying the game quite a bit! I was wondering the whole flare thing. Once I reach 50 I will be able to assumingly make a high end item use that flare. I'm not too sure on how the system works 100% and I searched around but would that flare item be 1 time use on one item or I can assimingly use that flare as much as I like on many different high-end items? Trying to decide if I should get the flare now and once I reach 50 I can safley switch that flare knowing I can reuse it later instead of rebuying.

 

Also one last question is the mount that is offered in their store quite unique as far as how often you see it, and how do you guys rate the mount look? Cool and unique? Reason I ask is I'm one of those that like to stand out :P and if I drop $25 on it I will get a few head turns on it haha sorry but I guess that's how I look at it :D

    I'm currently playing FF14.  But, I have never purchased anything from the cash shop.  So, I would be interested in finding out as well.  I will ask some gulid mates tomorrow about your question.  If no one has answered you by then, I'll make sure to let you know what I find out.

    Im at the shop right now and I don't see anything called a flare. There are three dyes, seasonal outfits, wedding outfits, some pets, one mount, and the fantasia vials which are used for changing your race/gender. No flares.

    Same here, I'm a little confused as to what you're referring to, OP. Except with the mount, yeah it's not a rare sight in game, but it's no common chocobo.

    I'm really behind, I didn't even know that there was a cash shop in FFXIV.

    But, I'm really enjoying the game very much.

    Maybe ffxi has something called a flare for crafting items and maybe the op thinks they are in that forum? I dont know. There is currently no item you can buy that helps you craft gear. As long as I have known, there hasnt been an item that does that or anything called a flare for that matter.

    He is talking about the Galmour system. The items on the cash shop are not one use (except the mount/dyes/wedding). The neck piece, the helmets, the maid outfit are all actual items. You can Glamour a high end item to take the same appearance. The items do not disappear.

     

    Example, I have an electrum choker (necklace) and I have the paramount's necklace from the cash shop. I simply right click on the electrum necklace and select "Cast Glamour" and then select the paramount necklace. If I have the correct grade of glamour crystal (get them from the Market Board) then it will change the appearance of the electrum necklace to the paramount necklace. The paramount necklace will not be consumed.

     

    The Glamour system does not consume any item except the glamour crystals.

    Yeah I know how the glamour system works I've just never heard or seen the term flare used for it.
