FFXIV: Mod Support Coming and much more

“We’re working on mod support UI integration for those who are looking into [modding],” Yoshida said. “We’ve heard people and their desire for mod support and we acknowledge that. We’re working towards implementing it.”

“There are some titles like Final Fantasy Tactics that kind of pay homage to the Deep Dungeon stuff,” he said. “I would love to take on the challenge of incorporating elements of Deep Dungeon into FF XIV. Hypothetically, if I did, I would want it to be something where players would continue to go further and further down into the depths of a dungeon. And if you cancel out mid-dungeon or you decide to leave, you would have to start it all over again. It would be for hardcore players.

“Another element I’d want to add is from Final Fantasy IV, when they go to the moon. I’d love to do something like that,” he added.

“I’ve been talking with XV director Hajime Tabata about it,” he said. “We’d love to do something together.”

I would love that deep dungeon type of thing, I remember playing Final Fantasy Tactics and going through that with a lot of patience.

    I suppose he should have thought about that whole going to the moon thing before he blew it up.

    Dalamud was a "lesser moon" there is another moon nearby. Though I don't know why he wants to go to space so soon when we haven't even touched the main continent yet.

    Thank goodness for UI mods. Their interface looks slick enough but my god the inventory management needs work.

    Despite i love the game and i think its the best of its kind, 2 things keeps me away many times. The lack of mods and the boring combat. Mod addition is very welcome and will change the game experience a lot for many players, including me :)

    Because you want your developers to think ahead. He simple stating something that he wishes to have that in the game. So clearly right now it not there focus or that it will happen soon.

    You must not do much endgame content, we've had parsers since 2.0

    Those people really do not bother me. It's simple, they do not pay me a salary nor did they pay for my entertainment so, to bad for them if I play to entertain myself and not to get max DPS so they are better entertained.

    Parsers already exist.  It's just that if anyone mentions using it in game, they can get banned.  Well, that's their official stance on the matter at least.

    Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

    Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.
