What is the difference, I read they dont get the trials of atlantis expansion because people were complaining. I just got this game and im debating on whether to go classic or regular, theres more players on classic. But is ToA a good expansion or bad? I dont understand about the negative feedback.

The classic servers do not have the ToA content because it gave an unfair advantage in RvR combat. I play on Gareth (classic server) which has the highest population and still has hours on end of PvE content as well as some amazing RvR. ToA is not a bad expansion, but you won't find as much of a population on those server clusters as you will on classic servers, particularly Gareth.
Kunou says the PVE content of TOA is fun though.

Initially if gave an unfair advantage in RvR to the people who we're "hardcore players" over the casual players. The people who could play a lot more and were in a large guild were able to get through the timesinks in ToA at a much faster rate. Casual players who didn't have 6 hours in a night to invest in raiding kinda got left behind of those who did. Larger guilds also had an advantage over smaller guilds since some of the raids initially required large masses of players to complete.
All that being said though, many of those problems have been removed from the ToA content. Raids require FAR FAR fewer players and MUCH MUCH less time to complete. Encounters are simple and quick now for the most part and ToA is pretty much accessable to anyone. More changes are still taking place to even the playing field even more, but as it stands now I would definitely consider a regular server, the ToA artwork and encounters are some of the best in the game imo.

I've gone home to my normal server for the most part, playing on Gareth when the mood strikes now. TOA is nowhere near the problem people are making it out to be. My level 50 Warden had NO TOA gear less than a week ago. I already have two TOA weapons and my guild is working to help me get other items I need as well. This is with playtime of less than 2 hours a night on that character.
I also completed 7 Champion quests in the past 2 nights as well.... very sweet.

If you are a really casual player then you need to go Classic (say 5 or less hours a week). If it is impossible for you to be mostly at your computer for a 2 hour period, then go classic. That is the biggest consideration. You will also find it easier to get groups at low levels.
Given what you loose versus what you gain, then the regular servers deserve a chance. I still do not like ToA, but I really doubt new players will have much if any issue with the ToA content. Raids are usually done in a couple of hours. Some will take a little longer and a lot of that just depends on who is leading it. You can often get away with just putting yourself and follow if you need to go AFK. The only thing is you might get stuck or you might need to zone. Hence why I said you need to have at least sometimes be able to sit for a 2 hour period.
Yay! One less Alb and one less Classic player. Today is going to be a good day
The strategy of killing Albs hasn't worked for the past 4 years so I thought I would start by trying to stop their breeding
Albs breed? I thought they multiplied if you got them fed them after midnight like gremlins or something...

Aha! I knew it. You have defected back to a Normal server! What happened to Gareth my friend?
I still play on Gareth I've been on every day this week LOL Where you been freakboy? I just split my time now. Nothing 'happened' to Gareth, I just really really missed my Warden. Not to mention some very dear and old friends (friendships going back up to 6 years I'm talking) who are still playing there.
Don't worry, I still play on Gareth.

ToA, in my opinion, is an excellent expansion. Very good PvE content and tons to do. I, however, chose to play on the classic servers when I came back only because of the ruleset on those servers:
no /level command
buff range
and I chose Gareth because I can't stand clusters.
My, and many others I have talked to, ideal server would be a ToA enabled server with the classic ruleset, but there isn't one. So I'm stuck on Gareth without the ToA content because it's the lesser of two evils.

^^^^ What he said! I would LOVE To see the 'normal' servers adopt the classic ruleset (buff stuff). I don't even really mind /level too much (though it can get annoying). I really hate the prevalence of Buff-Bots on the 'normal' servers. That is the main thing that draws me to the Classic servers. If it weren't for Buff Bot's I would never log into Gareth.
