ah was waiting for this for awhile, but very not impress with the basic dull UI and simple chat boxes fonts, text windows, etc. it looks and feels like a better version of Perfect World's games like FW etc. i will wait and see more reviews and videos to see how they really make this game unique

cabal one was fun because at the time that was amazing when it came out, we are 2015, at least try to have very elegant stylish theme and graphics upgraded to grab todays player eyes

There's already a problem with companies trying to call their games "action" combat when theyre often not, or are at best some sort of hybrid. As an MMO journalist I'd hope you could at least try to tell players the facts about a game instead of repeating the marketing PR speak the companies try to throw around.

People need to stop thinking that a game has to play like a FPS to be called action.

I believe the reason they think this way, is because that is the very definition of "action MMO".

There is no definition like there is none for sandbox mmo.

There might not be an official definition, but the concepts are inferred for the different styles.

Themepark is usually inferred when an MMO is linear in it's progression, such as leveling or acquiring gear.

Sandbox is the opposite, with non-linear activities, building/creating, and non-linear progression (although i do have my own strict definition).

Tab-target is inferred, when the player is usually standing still, and their attacks will always hit the target no matter what  It's basically static combat..

Action-combat is inferred when you are more mobile, avoiding and dodging attacks, and can hit mobs and players without a target.

Cabal 2 is not action-combat.  Would anyone seriously call WoW or Archeage an action-combat mmo?

    Source?

    A source isn't needed.

How do you think standards are formed?  How do you think HTML was formed, or sports with rules?  Committees are formed to determine standards and practices, but one does not need this in any official form.  It's just inferred by deduction of experience.

I gave you 2 years of my life, Cabal. Don't make me come back.

We've both suffered enough from this relationship. You took my money. You took my life. Probably took some of my eye sight too.

I can't do this again, baby. My heart would break to leave you again.

When discussing Action Combat MMOs on the market, you just need to compare em to games like Blade&Soul, Swordsman and Tera. They are all hybrids of tab targeting and action combat, but the key to their combat is the inclusion of gap closing, blocking, combos, cc breaking, positioning. That's all you need for an action mmo. If there is a high skill ceilling to the skills, a way to Yomi (read) the opponent and react to it, twitch reactions being important, it's an action mmo. Cabal 2 doesn't strike me as one too much, but I've not looked at all the skills yet.

I'm the hardcore player, the one that rushes lvl cap before you even finish the starting area.

So this is another mmo with action combat like WoW, FF14, Rift, Aion and the rest? Hmm personal I prefer something like Tera's axis of destruction combat system, but I'll check it out anyway. If it has a zzzzxTm trade system and a whjkwu!!XV crafting could be fun.

Did they just Copy and Paste Aion.

I was thinking the same exact thing...which could be both good and bad. Aion wasn't a bad game when it first came out.

Now, which one of you will adorn me today?

Oh look, it's Aion without being able to fly.

Welp, back to waiting for a replacement MMO. After playing Vindictus again, I cannot stand the archaic MMO combat design any longer.  (I already could barely stand it before, but now I'm just completely done.)

ArcheAge was another game I waited years for, only to find out it was just another WoW with a crafting focus; yay.

I liked the original Cabal, that was until you got to mid level,  then all the quests died out and you had to rely on many purchases from the item shop just to alleviated the unending boring grinding.  If this game is anything like that, I can safely avoid it.

Just curious are the classes gender locked?

I LOVE combos but NOT when they are all solo and reinforce the need to NOT interact with other players.I have absolutely no problem with tab targeting,i actually WANT it ,IF done right.

I love  the idea of having to think about the type of damage versus certain mobs but i also saw zero interaction with the Mage class.Basically EASY mode gaming, the mobs never touch the Mage. That is ok in a group setting because you are basically EARNING  it,you have a tank who does his job to keep the hate off and the Mage a paper class does it's job to NOT spam and draw hate.

However in this design,it is basically spam your heart away,no healer to worry about,no tank to worry about,no hate meters to worry about, nobody to worry about because the mobs are not even hitting you. This is the perfect scenario to show that unless you want EASY mode combat,a group will always offer better and more challenging combat because you have options to think about instead of just spam away and circle strafe IF it even gets to the point of having to move.

Basically i see some good positive thought behind the ideas but is ruined by the overall design.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

People who think manual aiming is required in the definition of action combat are woefully mistaken.  It is certainly an option, but it is far from a requirement.
