This week, the Dungeons and Dragons Online team ran a livestream with a public preview of Update 25, featuring their latest dungeon experience, the Temple of Elemental Evil.  They showcased a few of the sections of the temple without giving away too many spoilers and answered questions from their players.

Hmm.  No new on the Warlock Class I guess.   That is disappointing because they mentioned it as a possible class addition to DDO when the Temple of Elemental Evil came out.  Too bad because I have been wanting to play a 3rd or 3.5 addition Warlock in an MMO for a long, long time and would have came back to the game had they included them.  Oh well I guess.

When I first played it I was really surprised how much it felt like D&D, I really enjoyed it but I only found it just was ESO was coming out so only played it for a few months.

I'm currently excited for it's release on the console, the poster above is right it is F2P to start out however I must point out that they have a very very Korean pay wall method in their store and it's disguised behind a currency conversion system which seems to be the most recent fashion craze with all of the MMO developers out there. To give you an example, you buy a mount or a companion in the store and in order to get any usefulness from those purchases you have to immediately upgrade the purchase by spending and enormous amount of in game currency. Gathering is out of the question like traditional MMOs to sell in the AH so basically unless you run dungeons constantly you won't be making much in the way of the currency to upgrade these companions or mounts, so buying the currency is the only thing left really for most players. Here's to hoping this system is squelched when it's released on the console because the playerbase there has more control over their games and their DLC practices.

Yep. It's also a very different MMO from the rest.

So definitely worth trying sometime if you're ever bored and looking for something to play.

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

I don't know what game this poster is talking about, but it is definitely not DDO.

Just as a FYI for other posters.

Pretty sure they are talking about Neverwinter which releases on Xbox one today.

I thought they used Eberron as this game's setting? Have they moved ToEE officially out of Greyhawk, or does DDO explain it away in game?

I don't follow DDO, so honest questions, not trying to nitpick.

I'm with LILJNA; 'meonthissite' wasn't talking about DDO.

To answer your question 'VESAVIUS' yes the base setting is EBERRON.  As far as any of the ... well 'expansions' or as DDO calls them 'dungeon experiences' go I couldn't say.

Just as a person note I know alot of players have wished for a GREYHAWK based game as I'm told that's the more popular setting, so it would might sense to bring stuff like that in if possible.  Like you I don't follow it to know all the settings and expansions.  My D&D experience is very 1978 ish old school.

One of the best features of the game is the DM's voice overs as you play.  Really get's you into the spirit.

    SWG (pre-cu) - AoC (pre-f2p) - PotBS (pre-boarder) - DDO - LotRO (pre-f2p) - STO (pre-f2p) - GnH (beta tester) - SWTOR - Neverwinter

Some of the later updates are in Forgotten Realms, mostly (all?) in and around the city of Cormyr.
