>>>>Actually no its not outside gaming press, its CIG"s hype shows,>>>>
CIG "hype shows" can only be seen on the CIG homepage ... so you basically would need to know about SC already. Not exactly a very effective "hype" strategy ;-)
Actually it is, you hype the crap out of it and then let your rabid fans do the rest of the work, its very common practice. Many games are doing it that way. Nor has it stopped CR hyping it to every media outlet he can get his hands on. There is more to hype then just spending cash on advertisements. Heck most games hype do not come from advertisements, so I am not sure what you are even talking about. Hype is generated by a company by talking about how amazing their game is, and how amazing what they are doing will be. Something CIG does all the time. Heck they put their hype on a shirt for you to buy. (not sold anymore)
>>>There are no contracts and no games currently out that has Cryengine net code able to do what SC wants. >>>
There are no contracts because CIG is still improving the basic 16 player multiplayer netcode of the CryEngine. I am quite confident that they can improve on that (just as they have improved the CryEngine to 64 bit), having head-hunted the best and brightest of CryTeks engineers in their new CIG Frankfurt studio.
And again I have already said that, or do you not fully read my posts? So what is your problem?
>>> The vast majority of the backers did not have access until August 6, when the number invited jumped to all. >>
Well, its nice to be a subscriber and to get the goodies before the "vast majority" can play ;-)
LOL thank you for proving that you make things up. Being a subscriber had no effect on getting into the multiplayer, it was only your citizen number. But again thank you for stating something so easy to prove wrong.
>>>> Heck they put their hype on a shirt for you to buy. (not sold anymore) >>>
Thats a Squadron 42 shirt link you posted. That is common game merchandise - something you get for almost every game from the right outlets. I can even have such a shirt custom made myself online in dozens of places.
>>> or do you not fully read my posts? >>>
Unfortunately i do ;-)

Did it ever occur to you that i might be a subscriber AND have a low citizen number ?

Yes and it says Best D Space Sim Ever, ya that is not hype, nope not at all.

Then why state that being a subscriber got you in early? what does you being a subscriber have to do with the discussion at hand? Nothing, you were caught making things up and now you are just backpeddling for all you are worth. Or you could be following your trend of stating random things that have nothing to do with the discusion and then acting like they do. Kind of like your links.
What does,
"Well, its nice to be a subscriber and to get the goodies before the "vast majority" can play ;-)"
have to do with anything if you are not implying you got in early because you are a subscriber. Now you are saying its nothing. hahaha. So either you make things up, or you are admitting that you say random things to imply something that is not true.

Ok, too much hype (too much everything BTW) could be bad, as the player thinks in impossible things (Like this being a Space Sword Art Online), but that's more problem of the player.
What I see is that they give lot of info, people get hyped for a lot of new, revamped, upgraded things and desire to play this game. Is that bad?
I think after the hype one needs to back-up with facts .... thats why i am posting a lot of links to sites with information about the game. And there IS a lot of info about the game available. But so few really look at it before they whine, boo and hiss.
Hehe, maybe that's the problem. They give too much info and some people are more like TL:DR, and then imagine whatever they think it's the game and then give that as facts, lol.
Whatever. I prefer lot of info, so I can know early what to expect about it. Right now I have more hype for Star Citizen than the new Mass Effect. Yeah, they say the Mako will be back and showed a, greybox it was?, but not too much more info, details.
The good thing to being silent it's no people will be tossing with questions (and if they do they just keep silent) and when it's nearly all ready they start the marketing and the hype. In Star Citizen they need to struggle with the community, but at the same time the community can give them ideas, suggestions so CIG could fix design or even aesthetic things before the game is done.

Word on street is usually bots get payed by number of post/threads and most important reply to threads.

Another rumor is that arena 1.1 will be amazing.
Yep, I heard that rumor. Supposedly EA and others evil companies are paying some people for bashing Star Citizen. Not really sure that's necessary for them, but guess they have enough money for doing something like that. If they can't but the competitor, they will try to make bad propaganda (Mafia and hitmans still a bit too high for the situation).

Yes i have rumor is that EA is launching a sandbox space simulator. Unfortunatelly i missed the gamme name. Any ideea of what the name of the game would be ?
you are wasting your time trying to convert this small handful of haters. they just want to sit around looking at the anime boobies this site likes so much
Funny thing, when people cannot construct a reasonable argument counter, they resort to derisory comments, you do yourself a disservice by resorting to such puerile tactics.

Hmm, last thing I heard was Electronic Access was the online store for Arena Commander and Space Marine, so you can spend the REC (Credits) to get ships and weapons for the simulators.
And about the other EA, just heard of a Sandbox Space for The Old Republic, but it seems it's not coming :-(
The other theory is about the new Mass Effect, but I don't think it will have too much sandbox, but who knows? They don't give a lot of info :-/
Does anyone have links to actual gameplay footage?
I saw a guy walking around a hanger full of fish as an April fools joke, and I've seen a few of the heavily edited hype/trailers they've put out... but are there any real gameplay videos out there?
I saw Camelot Unchained recently put up a big demo of alpha gameplay with like siege mechanics and stuff. Real gameplay footage.
My brother who lives with me is a developer on this game. It doesn't really interest me personally, but from what I've seen behind the scenes it looks like it's going to be pretty neat.
Does anyone have links to actual gameplay footage?
Step 1 : open Google
Step 2 : Enter search terms Star Citizen youtube gameplay
Step 3: Get 50+ pages of Google links with several hundred player made gameplay videos. And in addition to that video blogs, satire, trailers, home made CryEngine videos, you name it.
I saw two cut scene sequences - from space to "going through orbit" and then from that to "flying over city" - not quite seamless after all.
... and another (third) when actually landing.
These cut scene sequences were (most likely) running locally, so very fast load times, versus "real world" when you are connected to a server over the internet - what is the load time REALLY going to be?
Even if it is 10-20 seconds, it's still pretty amazing and unique to even be able to go from walking around ship to piloting in space to atmosphere to walking around etc.
Looks like No Man's Sky is doing it without any load screen sequences to take you out of the immersiveness of the game - but No Man's Sky seems to be a more local-multiplayer vs. persistent MMO game.

I enjoy this ....

it will be great because they have no publisher breathing down their necks demanding a shareholder profitable game.
This game has no shareholders

You can find a few minutes of "live" gameplay from Pax or something where Chris Roberts flies around a bit and gets blown up by bots.
That's all I have really seen.
