I mean come on why do you guys spend time and money playing WoW when its only 10% of most MMORPGs. Its has one of the wrost end game content i have ever seen. Its takes 2 weeks to get to lvl 60. Raids and even that raid( The only hard part is getting the people gear'd/ready for them). Very low selection of races/classes. The class balance system is #$%#. The in game world is to small. The game is so easy it attracts little kids ( like leeroy ) and screws around with people trying to play, and what happens to them? Nothing. They can wipe raids harrasse etc and nothing happens? I mean what kind of
@$$# is that. Overall the game is incomplete

I no longer play WOW, but having 234029753-4572435243 people playing it, they must have done something right
I agree with you though, the end game is somewhat of a let down.
Wow- 47 mage... any1 want to buy?
RF online- some hot Cora chick.
DAOC- 4 lvl 50s.
Someone needs to make a game like EQ1 before PoP expansion, if anyone wants to make a good mmo
Well....Vangaurd is gunna try that, but its inevidable that they will go twards casual players, because in the end that is ware the money is
Just like everyone else you would hope a compony just makse a game you like, but unfortunatly the world does not work that way
The new EQ2, better than ever befor !

WoW only sucks when you don't pace yourself. If you rush the game, you're going to hate it. I've been playing for exactly a year now, and I'm still not burnt out on the game. I raid on weekends, PvP on Friday's, but I do other things during the week, like attend to my life. That's why WoW has lasted so long for me. Although, when I first got it, I played straight for almost 3 months, and almost quit.
You see, when you start to get burnt out on the game, go play something else. Personally, after my 3 month "rut period" I went and picked up a CoH 14-day trial. I played the trial for the entire 2 weeks, and when it ran out, I went back to WoW. Just 2 weeks ago I had another rut. I went and played Guild Wars for a week, came back, and now I love the game again.
Too much of one thing is always terrible. You just don't do it. That's why the game sucks for you. Saying that it is a terribly made game because you don't like it is extremely ignorant, though.
They play it because it's fun for them. The same reason why anyone would play any game. Frankly, I don't know why people try so hard to bash other games solely based on their own gaming preference. If I'm playing WoW and enjoying it, and someone comes along and tells me the game sucks, I'm definitely not going to go "Oh my God, you're right! What was I thinking?".
i just want to say that i bought the game when it was released in europe, and the first 20 lvls were fun...then its was the same all the way to lvl 60 (boooooring). after lvl 60 you can do instances over and over and over and over and over and over again OR you can sit in battlegrounds 8hrs a day for 3 months to grind honour points.
if you are a farmer who likes to do the same thing over and over all the time and in the end every charackter looks the same this is the game for you....i will never play it again.
When making EQ2 SOE though, "There are lots of people playing MMOs, how can we get them? When making WOW Blizz though, "There are way more people NOT playing MMOs, how do we get them?" I have been playing WOW for about 9 months and have yet to get to any endgame content. I can hop on for an hour and feel I have accomplished something. Friends of mine with families that I could never get to play other MMOs with me are now playing WOW. I played a number of games before WOW such as AC, EQ, SWG, and many others. I would play for a while, get bored and quit. Come back later. I really enjoyed EQ until about level 20. Then It would take me several weeks to gain a level, many days to complete a single quest. Even with my 42 Hunter there are things I can get done in an hour or two solo.
So if you have a life outside the PC, WOW is what you have been looking for! If not, well there are other games.
hmm i ive seen alot of gamers that were playing wow be drawn to other games simple because it was a let down at the end. WOW is a casual game ive played it and omg was it so not for me. the running every were and u never had a place to call home and what not. to me its alot of oh look at the pretty coolers ill play and didnt ur teacher tell u not to judge a book by the cover. they did a good job of getting quick cash and thxs to all the noobie none mmo players out there bilz are pretty rich atm. if someone from a game can tell u that they have 5 max lvl 60 alts or even 2 max 60 alts then that game is way to easy.
not that i disagree with you entirely, but if you are only a 47 mage i doubt you have experienced wow's endgame lol.
but i honestly think wow's endgame isn't that bad (if you don't mind grinding instances all day) i find the raids interesting and challenging to an extent. bg's leave alot to be desired but it is still fun....for a while.
i think the main problem is, you get maximum level far to fast, and the whole time lvl 1-60 is soloable when as soon as you hit lvl 60 you cannot solo pve anymore.
but i find it really funny when people say they hate it because they get to max level in 2 weeks.....dude, if you seriously got max lvl in 2 weeks of real time you have no business playing wow lol
you should play something a bit more hardcore, because even I (someone who plays wow alot ATM 6-12 hrs per day sometimes) have never even come close to max lvl in 2 weeks.
maybe 2 weeks in game /played time, but not 2 actual weeks....that is crazy.
but yeah all in all wow has gotten really old and boring for alot of people....especially those that have alot of time for gaming. for casuals I'm sure it is great, but for me its just something to do until vanguard comes out.
read this http://www.vanguardsoh.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1044304#post1044304 then come back and talk to me about the vanguard/soe fiasco.....
because game is designed for the kids and those adalts with simple minds that cant grasp anything more complex
sadly they are majority
Says the man who can't master spelling...
It is sad really, but there is nothing else out there really, MMORPG thinking that is, I know alot of people who can truly see WoW for what it is, they hardly like the game, but since they don't find anything else out there they just have to play WoW. We are all looking forward until something else can show up and beat down WoW.

And I don't want to hear anything about "I don't believe in vampires" because *I* don't believe in vampires, but I believe in my own two eyes, and what *I* saw is ******* vampires! "
It sounds like you want something more mature and sophisticated in terms of gameplay. WoW is more general fun for the family. You might want to try something else if WoW is not your thing.
Or, play with a guild or network of close friends. WoW is so large that people of the same mentality tend to band together.
you made 60 in 2 weeks... you're uber!
i play the game because i love the warcraft lore simple as that.
if i never read the books or played the strategy games then i would've switched to another mmorpg a long time ago. but i love the lore so i keep playing because i love it

It's casual , it's simple ...it's based on my fav rts series from my fav games dev ,no system lag, good population ...some idiot's here and there (thank god for /leave 1
It's not perfect ...but there is nothing better out there ...the numbers don't lie
I play it for almost 1 year ..and i think i will for a long time WoW ftw
the pvping in wow is nice.. and im a heavy pvper
Lack of a better fantasy MMO. That's why I play WoW.
It has its good points such as a huge world to explore, fast paced combat style, battlegrounds, and soloability. However in my opinion the fast paced combat spoils you. You go back to playing DAOC or EQ1 or EQ2 and you can go afk after you start a fight with a mob grab some water, take a bio break, feed the pet then come back and the mobs just now about to die.
Everyone says it's so easy to hit lvl 60, I've yet to do so. I've been playing since the time SOE was about to launch DoF expansion. Granted I have alts out the wazoo on both sides but I've yet to get past lvl 47. I can't comment on the end game content cause I haven't reached that yet but I will...someday.
If you like PvP you'll love it. This being my first PvP game I can't say anything negative about the style. You get ganked...big deal it's a part of PvP. Take your revenge out on some other poor soul that's lower lvl than you are. The 3 battlegrounds are all a blast (aside from the occasion flag hiding adversary in WSG).
Also coming straight from EQ2 I LOVED the fact that you have an option to where you want to level up your toon and quest or grind. Want to be a Night Elf but hate Darnassas area? Run to Stormwind and quest in the human starting areas till your around 25. That's right unlike EQ2 you have the option of other areas to hunt and explore. Same with the horde side of course.
The downside to the game would have to be the cartoon graphics (helps with latency though), limited race/class selection, and absolutely THEE MOST REPULSIVE COMMUNITY. If you turn off general chat and ignore the spammed guild/group invites and duel requests then you've taken the community from a 1 out of 10 to a 5 out of 10. Unfortunately because the game is easy to play it attracts an even younger croud than you would normally get from any mmo imo. The cartoony graphics don't help either if you ask me . Throw in some kind of age verification required server for those over the age of 21 and maybe the community would get a 8 out of 10. Leaving room for the comedian college boys that like to brag about how much the smoke or drank the night before.
Also with the rising population due to lack of another mmo that can hold interest the servers are becomming congested with queue times rising. It's to the point where they are taking servers off the list and only allowing those that are online already to be playing. Bonechewer for example is where my alliance charicters are and its on and off the list depending on the time of day. Full servers across the board.
I'm not sure what exactly the amount of accounts they have active is but I've heard it's in the upper millions. To give them the benefit of the double and to make the dollar amount I'm about to toss at ya more realistic imo we'll say they have an even 1mil accounts. 1,000,000x15 = 15,000,000 per month (minus the 1,000,000 pennies ) One more time $15,000,000 per month! That's alot of dough to be bringin in to continue to have server stability problems.
Since I can't rate this game cause I never log on when I check out the site I'll rate it here for ya.
