Vanguard looks great but when is it due?

Just read about Vanguard in its forums. It looks very similar to the old SWG in many of the things its going to have. Like housing, vehicles, real good character customization and lots of other goodies. Looks like a real good game and heaven knows its badly needed with all the crappy games out at the moment.
I read they said its coming out in 2006 but does anyone know more or less when its due to come out, the month?

other than speculation? no....but since it is still in beta2 i would say it is at least 5 months away, probably more like 7-8 but this is pure speculation ofcource.

Nope, 2006 is all we know as solid information. However, their marketing campaign has begun and this means we'll see tons of new info the next few weeks and it prolly also means that beta 3 will start soon.
Currently playing:
* City of Heroes: Deggial, Assault Rifle/Devices Blaster. Server: Defiant.
* City of Villains: Snakeroot, Plant/Thorns Dominator. Server: Defiant.
im guessing for the august-september area on a release.
I'm pretty sure that they will if possible plan to release right after a showing at E3 in mid-May. This is disreguarding the stereotypical date pushing that MMORPGs are famous for. Just from a marketing standpoint if all beta stages go thru without a hitch, I could see this being the most logical time. If buggy and behind schedule I could see it being more like September.
Brad McQuaid the CEO confirmed the marketing campaign had started yesterday. Heres a quote from Brad in a thread I started in response to a query on a marketing blitz in the vanguard forums,
"Yep. Even though we've been out showing off the game, as well as having journalists by our offices for a little while (so the blitz from our standpoint has already started), these articles (and there will be more probably even today) are the first indications. So in that sense, you could mark today as the official beginning of the blitz.
Woot!"
So, it looks like the countdown to release has started.
I'm guessing it will be around the start of august when it gets released. It's been in beta 2 since january and beta 3 can't be no longer than a month away. Beta 3 I'm guessing will be ~3 months if all goes ok. Beta 4 is basically a stress test and they don't usually go on for very long. Give or take ~1 month. That brings us roughly to around August. There's a positive vibe on the vanguard forums from the devs and they seem talkative which is usually a good indication of how the games progressing. No news from devs is normally bad news. No news from beta is normally good news. Anyway, I'll probably be wrong in my guesswork. It'll probably go tits up and end getting pushed back until the end of the year. lol.
I would suspect late summer early fall.

There is much work to be done in It's current state. This will be "the" MMO, but Sigil has clearly stated that there will not be a release until Sigil is 100% satisfied with the game itself. This is one MMO that will not be released in a pre-ready state. People seem to be on the October badwagon lately.

I was honestly expecting something real late in the year, as in November (for the christmas shopping season) like EQ2, WoW, and Horizons did.
But if it's released any sooner I'll be happy.
I think it's better to make sure they get it right. Unfortunantly that means we'll all have to wait until later in the year
Well I think production started in 2002 so four years should be enough to get it right.

Beta 2 Ocrober 2005-present (5 months)
Beta 3 "This probably should be the longest phase", which implies longer than Beta 2.
Beta 4 "The shortest phase." Similar amount of time between DDO open beta and release I'd imagine.
At the absolute earliest assuming 6 months for Beta 3 (and that it starts soon) with 1 month for Beta 4, my guess is October.

Beta 0 July-October 2.5-3 months
Beta 1 October- 12/15 2.5 months
Beta 2 12/15-Present Most likely 3-6 months ending sometime between March and June.
Beta 3 4-8 Months
Beta 4 1 month
At the earliest that would mean release would be Mid August at the earliest and March of next year at the latest. I think most people expect an X-Mas release.

I'm gonna throw out my guess for End of June - Mid July for the ealiest.
I am excited about this game. I was a huge fan of pre-PoP EverQuest. GameStop has the game listed as a May release. But expect that to get pushed out. I really think May is to soon. It really depends on if the company wants to go live to capture the end of school rush or if they want to put out a stable product later.
Never underestimate the greed factor with game companies. They always go for the money upfront and try to patch the bugs later.

well regardless to it's date, I just preordered mine from gamestop (they don't have a date yet) and if a LE comes out i'm switching to that.
Many games aren't released in the vacation time period....
I would tip on a release date after summer holidays and around the time when it gets cold outside. people love to stay inside and play games around that time.... ;-)

no way are they going to release in the summer time, plus beta3 hasn't even started yet....so i highly doubt it would be ready anyways.
i got a feeling its going to be at least october....if it releases before that i would be shocked, i look for it to be in the oct-dec range IMO
