What a strange comment. You dont like people to do content with?
Very strange. Maybe he feels he is in an exclusive club for paying a sub when he has the option not too and yet still have access to the same exact content? Also strange that he keeps claiming ESO is F2P. Usually the ESO fans are the first ones to go apeshit if someone mentions ESO and F2P in the same sentence.
Come on. People sampling the game for a free weekend won't be at the level where vets can play with them. They will, however, be able to create free accounts and spam chat with trolling.

If the Vet community want to show people what a great game it is instead of being jerks...
They may find that some people will stay and become a great part of that community.
Treating everyone who logs in that weekend like spamming trolls just reinforces the stereotype of elitist jerks. A gaming community is made of and by players, not the devs
Play what you Like. I like SWOTR, Have a referral to get you going! --> http://www.swtor.com/r/nBndbs <-- Several Unlocks and a few days game time to make the F2P considerably easier
yeah, the limited inventory/bank space is a problem if you have 8 alts you play (no idea why you would need that many but hey!). personally, i have just one alt i play and the rest serve as mules to hold certain things.
yes it's annoying to do that but it wont be the first time i have done it in an mmo.
If you craft, it sort of helps to have a few alts leveled enough for the skill points needed to up your crafting skills. Not to mention being able to reach some of the more remote crafting stations in the higher level zones without a lot of hassle. I have 4 slots taken up by my main and crafters. My crafters also double as mules for their mats.
The other 4 slots are the ones I use / delete / re-use for build experiments.

"Here's to hoping all of the reasons you didn't buy were fixed"
Well, afaik none of my reasons were ever fixed.
I didn't buy mainly because of locking contents behind paywalls (imperial, mount, etc), no real auction house system, and the horrible insanely stupid inventory system which is a catastrophe for everyone who likes having a few alts.
My reasons are probably never gonna be fixed. Which is why I never spent a dime on this game, and probably never will.
But I am curious about WHAT they "fixed" for this upcoming free weekend, if anything at all.
Update 6 had about 40 gigs of fixes and content. The inventory system is not an issue (I have 8 toons and manage it just fine). As far as the AH, the Guild Stores work fine and allow for some interesting networking and social aspects. The paywall is just part of MMOs lately... get use to it, you will see more.
I stopped playing for a while do to graphic and lag issues, but those are a thing of the past for me. The game runs great and Cyrodiil has been a blast to get back into! ONe complaint I have there is make more non-vet campaigns! The queues can be long for that one.
For me, it doesn't matter if it was 1 byte or 50TB, as long as MY issues were not touched.
And btw, for us who likes having several crafter alts, inventory is ALWAYS important. If what I hear is true (max shared bank = 120 slots), then this system just isn't enough. If I had 8 toons like you, that would mean 15 slots per toon, average. Considering that the alts would probably need different ingreadients, and different tiers, it IS a problem.
And crafting mats is probably not the only stuff we would like to put in the bank, which makes it even worse.
This is the ONLY MMO I've ever played where each toons can't have their own, seperate bank slots, and frankly, I see no good excuse for that.
Paywalls just part of MMOs lately? Maybe, but not the ones I play. But then again, I tend to avoid F2P games. If that's the direction AAA MMOs are heading, then I'll stop playing them, because I refuse to support greed.
If you call a race and a mount "fluff", then I guess we'll have to disagree on what the term means. I would agree on the mount, IF we had a fairly easy way to get other mounts ingame, but according to Angry Joe's review on youtube, they're insanely priced and will therefore take an eternity to get.
You dont even have a clue about the game, you're just spouting unfounded nonsense in a smear campaign...
First off Max bank slots (which is shared) goes up to 240, which is ample for no matter how many toons you run doing however many different things, then you can buy upto 110 on each toon for personal storage and upgrade it further with your mount.
Second, regardless of how little people play the imperial class, it hardly stops you from playing all of the game, it does not lock you out from content etc... it's not a paywall a paywall would suggest it's game content you cannot access like another quest line, or a raid etc... without having the purchase, it's just a fluff class.
Also GW2 has shared almost everything to name another game with shared bank.. i know i've played a couple of other games with it but i cant think of it for the life of me.
Mounts are also not insanely expensive, you can get a mount for about 10k gold, which you would get from normal play by the time you're around level 20

Yeah i mean having a shared bank and only needing items to be in your bank to craft things on any alt is terrible for players who like having alts... imagine pooling your resources from all your toons to craft what you want on any toon that has said skill... in no world could i imagine this actually being intuitive and good.
The shared storage is great and you can buy it with in game gold. Not only that, but you don't need to take items out of storage to craft. You do need to take mats out of storage to turn in writs that have mat requirements though like enchanting.
i was being sarcastic i loved shared banks where you dont have to have the items in your inventory to use them... it's the best thing ever.
I got the account reactivation which is automatic I guess.
I won't bite at this free weekend offer because I don't want to download 80 gb just to uninstall it in a few days. They never fixed the issue I have with the archaic inventory system. How hard would it be to put a mat only bag in the system to free up main inventory space for other things? Anyway I have used Paul Sage's snarky advice to watch tv instead of playing ESO. I also didn't like the constant money grabs for short term profit that ZOS seems to like to do. They lost me as a customer in beta and unfortunately have not done anything that would get me back.
i dont understand where you got 80gb download from.. it's like 41gb

80 Gigs is the required drive free space that it needs to do its unpacking, patching, build temp files etc. After the install it only uses ~40.

actually is a valid reason. The inventory alone wouldnt make me skip a game, specially since there is an addon that adds a grid inventory for ease of use. But i think the gold cost to increase bag size is more stupid than the inventory system itself. Also i will never buy the imperial cash grab and will never support such crap. I bought the game and after so many fixes its a working and enjoyable product now. But i will never support cash grab tactics like the imperial race plus any race/any faction locked behind paywalls garbage.

You know what.. technically the Imperial race and horse were originally a *collectors edition* bonus which many games give extra bonuses in a collectors edition etc.. even exclusive classes or races or skins etc....
They also allowed the upgrade for $20 for anyone who wanted to purchase it, maybe people couldnt afford to buy the collectors edition and bought the normal only a couple of months later could afford the extra $20 to upgrade.
it basically gave people options to access the *collectors edition upgrades* without outlaying the cost of the collectors edition to begin with.
EDIT - infact so many developers now are offering *collectors upgrades* after purchasing a standard edition so, the fact you have a problem with it is only going to get worse for you.

Hmm... interesting. Well, whoever composed the email is wrong. As I said above, they want you to have 80 GB free for unpacking, temp files, etc., but the actual DL is 30something and once installed the game directory will also be less than 40 GB.

When a MMO is B2P, I have much less reservations about buying it. I don't have to keep a sub, so I can play at my pace. I don't have to feel obligated to play it everyday, because that is not how I game.
My take on this is that Zenimax's primary aim is to get benchmark / feedback about the changes they have made. They may also get some word of mouth chatter and sell some copies as well of course but I suspect feedback is a big feature in this.

Yeh I'm pretty sure you are right. If they see a decent upswing of sales this weekend from all of the previous beta players that didn't initially buy, then they will feel they are in the right track with all of the changes and fixes they have made to the game. I guess we will see if they win over the people that didn't buy because of bugs or the people that didn't buy due to mechanics.
So far so good from a connectivity stand point as an existing player. I played for a few hours this morning on both my EP and AD characters on the NA megaserver and I was able to log in without delay, travel without delay to lowbie zones where former beta players were likely to be and my FPS and latency were normal.
I chatted in zone chat a bit and answered some player questions so I know the weekend players haven't been walled off from the regular player base.
I'm curious to see if the decent game performance continues once it's NA prime time and when most people are not working.
There is people everywhere. Hardly any lag, if at all. I haven't run into any bugs either. This will probably boost sales for zenimax, so it's a win for them either way.
