WildStar: Bay of Betrayal Adventure Revealed

Invasion: Nexus is shaping up to bring a massive number of big changes to Wildstar and lots of new content as well. In a new deep dive on the WildStar site, Adventures Team Lead Matt Tobiason reveals the Bay of Betrayal.

The Bay of Betrayal challenges players to use their technopathic abilities against other teams participating in the Adventure as all are aimed at the same goal. What makes this adventure different from others is the ability for players to scale the difficulty by earning medals. Medals are counted collectively, with the adventure scaling based on that number. But beware: Competitors get tougher too.

Key to success in Bay of Betrayal is the ability of a team to work in concert with one another to accomplish coordinated attacks and to overcome challenges that await. Combat, puzzle solving and coordination will all be key to success.

While in the instance, players are granted a new ability called "technopathy" that allows access to and use of energy from power sources in order to gain access to technology scatted throughout the area to overcome the challenges presented.

Of course, no adventure would be complete without loot. Gear for the most part will be on level with lower-end Veteran Dungeons while higher levels of difficulty will also see high end gadgets as rewards.

Sounds cool. Wildstar was not a bad game. It just had a lot of end game issues, which is why I stopped playing it. I've considered going back on and off.

its a great game- they have been working very hard with their casual endgame /solo content among new dailies - so they are doing a great job.

i cant say the same for their PR stunt they just pulled with shelve boxes.

so yeah... 'betrayal' to their loyal playerbase..

The game is polished, the world is quite well done, it's vivid and it feels alive. The combat is fun and unique, and it's hard. The game is hard than most MMO's. The game being harder that the majority of MMO's out there it's a good thing. It's a matter of personal preference: do you want a game to relax in your spare time, after a stressful working day or a game that challenges you but leaves you physically tired with your hands in pain?

I have been playing Wildstar for over a year (obviously including beta testing), and I have yet to experience either of these.

Such an egregious betrayal.  Giving new box purchasers some cosmetics that digital purchasers do not have access to.  If those who bought the box still have it, they can enter their code again and obtain them.  Honestly, if anybody actually feels like it's a "betrayal", they really need a thicker skin.  Or else they will not be a very happy person in any area of life.

I really should go back and play this game again.  I might just do that soon. The fat cat though is really cute it even purrs. I do not see why they should not encourage new purchases with some gifts and the older players can buy it too. They are after all kinda struggling and if it brings new players more power to them.

Bay of Betrayal? Quite an ironic title if NCSoft are up to what some round here suspect..

I'm not one them but made me chuckle anyway :)  I'm subbed and enjoying it, and hope the game stays P2P or at least B2P..
