To not spam this forum with our patches (which are most of the time twice a week) I will use this tread to post them.

Changelog v.0.1.9f5

Gameplay:

– Reduced flags guards HP
– Reduced rabid wolf’s HP (18)
– Redesigned part of light armours (helms) and their recipes distribution in enemies drops
– Redesigned tooltips for items and recipes scrolls, especially improved displaying of recieps and their levels – soon there will be added information if characters already knows a recipe

Fixes:

– Fixed bug allowing to duplicate items by using deposit
– Locked cursor’s position when rotating the camera so it won’t go out of game’s window if player is using multiple monitors
– Implemented cyclic checking if character has a proper tool equipped after hovering the cursor over resources; for now it was checked only at the moment of hovering cursor over resources so player needed to hover once again after swithing weapons, which was confusing a lot of players
– Implemented next fixes preventing items to disappear during crafting processes

    Greetings!

    Today we want to share some news with you. First one: we are during transfer Gloria Victis to Unity 5. What does it mean for you? FPS growth, better movement fluency, performance improvement and reduced hardware requirements while improving graphics quality. We are working on enlarging map beyond the home island and creating a continent. Introduced engine version will also make AI system smoother.
    Long awaited new version of PhysX will allow us to boost server performance and ameliorate collision checking. Sailing system will be also finished soon so get ready for sea adventures! Second: we are reworking many of systems (currently working on crafting, skill bars and tooltips) into new Unity UI system which gonna be more reliable and eye-catching.
    We want to remind you also, that since NDA is lifted off you can feel free with streaming your adventures and sharing with people through other mediums like screenshots, videos, reviews and others.

     

    We attached screen showing early render version from Unity 5 with entirely new trees.

    Is the Unity 5 and putting the boat heralds the introduction of horses or other mounts? When can we expect the transition to U5?

    Yes, indeed. Unity 5 gives us a lot of boost into our features system like a boats and horses.

    You should expect the upgrade into Unity 5 within two next weeks :)

    A new patch is up!

    v.0.1.9f8 Changelog

    Gameplay:

    – Implemented reward for daily logging-in – for tests purposes you can reveive it every 2 hours!

    – Reworked chat window, separating it from game’s communicates window and allowed to resize it, also improved moving it on screen and functioning of slider

    – Implemented test version of reworked crafting window (for tests it is opened by keys combination: QE + N), which among others brings grouping recipes in categories, sorting them by levels and marking those recipes which minimal levels are higher than character’s current crafting level

    – Implemented packages with random content, sold by vendor in the north fort (only if player’s nation controls the fort) or loot them from enemies

    – Implemented first, very raw version of daily achievements, opened by keys combination: QE + K and closed by: QE + L

    – Reworked crafting processes related to tanning

    – Made Armour Penetration values dependent on weapons quality versions

    – Rebalanced Armour Penetration values for various weapon types

    – Reduced knives stabbing damage multiplier

    – Added indicator of accurate hit an enemy with bow (in the middle of screen)

    Fixes:

    – Fixed bug causing that weather randomizing didn’t work

    – Fixed bug causing that resources weren’t appearing after longer time of playing (relogging was necessary to pass this issue)

    Unity 5 port comes in next few days!

     

    Greetings!

    We are glad to inform you that we are in the home stretch with transferring Gloria Victis to Unity 5! The engine upgrade allowed us to highly increase game performance, so even more of our players will be able to enjoy the smooth running game. Test results are awesome – FPS increase reaches even up to 50%!

    At the same time moving to Unity 5 allowed us to significantly improve visuals! Many of them, like high quality textures or advanced lightning effects, have already been implemented, but even more will come in the future!

    What’s new? Territory control system will be expanded in the next update. To take over the most important strategic points players will have to cooperate and show their brilliant combat skills. It will highly increase the role of team play. As an example we can bring the headquarters of Brotherhood of Lord’s Wrath, a faction of swordsmen recruiting both from Midlanders and Ismirs, for ages training in order to fight their common enemies – Azebs. To gain their respect and access to their keep, players will need to coordinate actions of a few teams, so they will be able to complete a series of smaller objectives in a specified time. Of course dealing with such a challenge will bring an appropriate reward, so this land will soon become an arena for thrilling PvP battles.

    As a response to many requests from our players we will implement an optional FPS camera soon! Playing in this mode will allow for deeper immersion into the atmosphere of Medieval world and greater excitement during exploration and combat!

    Big changes will also come to crafting system – it’s window will be fully reworked and expanded by additional options, like e.g. recipes sorting. In the near future, party and equipment windows will also be improved, so there are things to wait for!

    After just two weeks from the previous update we have really would like to share with you really great news! We are glad to announce that work has been completed and Gloria Victis is fully transferred to Unity 5!


    However it is the first version of our game on a new engine containing various bugs and problems, it offers much improved graphics, solutions for a lot of performance issues known from previous versions, daily events with valuable rewards, reworked crafting window and prototype form of a first person camera.

    – Added new island (work in progress version) with new type of flags and precious rewards
    – Implemented SpeedTree 5, the most advanced trees system, and replaced old trees with the new ones
    – Vertically rescaled the map so high mountains will be possible to implement (currently implemented mountains have been made higher too)

    Fixes to crafting system:

    – Fixed bug that in certain situations was completely blocking ability to craft items (if it will occur to anyone, please report it on forums)

    – Fixed bug related to learning the recipes (following communicate was being displayed: “you already know this recipe”)

    – Fixed bug preventing from choosing an alternate material or tool

    – Fixed bug causing that after opening a crafting window with clicking on workshop the window wasn’t coming back to default mode (only recipes related to this workshop were being displayed)

    – Implemented memorials for the most deserved players and guilds (new ones will be being added continuously)

    – Implemented swimming fatigue system preventing from running to water in PVP – heavier the armour, faster the character will drain all its stamina and get drowned (we recomment to wear light armor before swimming)

    – Increased character’s base damage in both melee and ranged combat

    v.0.2.1.1 Pre-Alpha

    HOT battle!

     

    Greetings!

    We have a pleasure to offer you the next update! With it you receive some signifficant improvements to the territory control system – destroyable gates and pots with a boiling oil! Moreover, we modified the items durability and repair system. Thanks to the Donators activity in poll threads about this system, we have come to an optimal solution – details below.

    Gameplay:

    – Implemented gates which can be opened only by the players from a nation controlling certain location – players from enemy nation have to destroy it first

    – Implemented pots with boiling oil set on the walls of towns and outposts

    – Implemented knife damage modifier based on character’s dexterity

    – Modified items durability and repair mechanics, basing on the results of a Community poll; implemented a solution proposed by many of our players – durability threshold, after which items statistics are decreasing to the preset minimal value; for testing purposes we applied 50% durability threshold and statistics decrease down to 50% of initial value when durability is 0

    – Reworked the party system

    – Placed 25 new NPC enemies on the map

    – Added four new pieces of music

    – Added new game languages – Portugal, Brazilian, Swedish, French, Hebrew

    Fixes:

    – Implemented a new launcher version, allowing to download the game files from a mirror located in North America

    – Fixed bug related to displaying the alternative materials in crafting window

    – Fixed bug from the latest version, causing FPS drops in towns at night

    - Fixed bug causing that NPC archers didn't do any dmg

    Today’s update greatly expands the Gloria Victis gameplay by adding the achievements system, complex in-game tutorials introducing new players into the game mechanics, attacks power bar and attacks queuing to increase the focus on player’s skills in combat, precious rewards for active players, the friends list allowing to manage the in-game contacts and relation and many fixes to various systems!

     

    Changelog v.0.2.3

     

    Gameplay:

    – Implemented the first tutorials explaining the basic game functions, as movement, interface, crafting and combat

    – Implemented attacks power bar

    – Implemented attacks queuing – to initiate the next attack faster, click LMB again when the end of a current attack

    – Slightly reduced the delay between attacks

    – Doubled the accuracy of characters position syncing

    – Added a many new achievements, grouped in categories related to the various game aspects

    – Implemented saving of the achievement progress in a database

    – Implemented rewards for activity as a tab in the achievements window – it allows to take a reward and check which was has been taken yet, when the next one will appear, how much time is left to take a reward and what reward will be available in future; you can still take a reward by clicking the envelope icon

    – Increased the accuracy of pots with boiling oil

    – Added a south-western flag on a minimap

    – Added particle effects when moving in the water

    Party:

    – Added new friends window (accessible as a tab in party window) allowing to quickly invite friends to the party or send them a message

    – Added possibility to invite players from different nation to the party

    – Added option to select who can invite new players to the party (by default only the leader)

    – Fixed party members status when they are close, added indication when they are too far away

    – You can join a party by asking any of its members (respecting leader's settings)

    Fixes, performance:

    – Improved visuals of hair and beards in shadow

    – Fixed bug causing that NPCs were stopping moving through their waypoints

    – Improved server’s performance

    – Fixed bug preventing from taking over the flag on a south-western island

    – Fixed minor glitches related to the models in Dunfen (holes in walls, stairs)

    – Fixed bug allowing to speak with vendors in flag locations, when a flag isn’t controlled by a player’s nation

    – Fixed bug causing that some of the settings in game options hasn’t being saved

    Greetings! 

    We have just implemented a new PVP arena! Now players can arrange friendly sparring and participate in tournaments in a controlled environment. There will be new different arenas added in future but even now it’s a great chance to enjoy some exciting PVP! 

    Right now we are starting to implement the skills system! It will contain dozens of passive skills and a few of active ones to choose, so it will be a massive gameplay improvement for sure!

    Greetings!

    Awesome news – soon we will finish the first version of building and fortifications system! With it you will be able to upgrade the gates and set the pots with boiling water or oil, as well as to hire the NPC mercenaries. Thanks to this, players will have more influence on defending the outposts or towns, and in nearest future it will allow us to implement further upgrades for controlled locations, as mining spots in the mines or crafting workshops in farms and keeps. The prototype version should be ready next week – we invite all our Community to test this system!At the same time we are implementing the skills system – a prototype version with dozens of passive skills, allowing you to create an unique character, should be also ready next weekend! Stay tuned!

    Looking good, I'm calling this as potentially the one game that's a kickstarter that may make it...but even you guys called for a 2015 launch and you are in prealpha...so, not sure any have a chance lol.  Still...good additions.
