There is one thing that stumps me...

There are no classes for spellcasters or magic.  That's overwhelmingly odd.

    That's because there was very little magic in Middle-Earth. The only ones who really used magic were the Istari (Gandalf, Saruman, Radagast, and the two Blue Wizards), and even they didn't fully show their powers during their time in Middle-Earth.

    It would be somewhat cool, though, if someone (namely a big contributor to the flow of the game) could become one of the Wise Council.

    It would bring an extra level of innovation to it. Of course, not a lot of people could become wizards, but it would be kind of fun to have someone to look up to as a player.

    What about the lore-master? Strikes me there could be some magic in there...

    Can I play a mage or wizard in LOTRO?

    From what is known, there were very few wizards in the whole of Middle-earth through the ages. You will not be able to play a Wizard, but a mage-like class will be available to you. As Magic plays such a special role in the Tolkien lore, we are taking great care to provide players with the abilities they expect, within an appropriate context for the Tolkien mythology.

    All i hear is a bunch of bitching about the book v the movie. I dont care. LOTR has been done to death and the game has nothing to attract gamers other than the fact its LOTR. Why will this game be good? I haven't seen anyone answer that. Here are the reasons its bad (so far) it could change, i try to have an open mind about these things. So what's the reason to shell out cash for this? When it has...

    Just lump the first 3 together. And that's all subjective because it's your opinion.

    Mounts will be put in with the Rohan expansion. Devs have said they want to get mounted combat right.

    I can see your reasons for being mad about only 4 races. I don't mind it but I can understand.

    And there are casters. The lore-master will use magic, just don't expect fireballs and lightning bolts.

    Things like this are all personal opinion. Personally, these are the precise thins that are attracting me to this game.
