Got the email saying my account was eligible and code was applied - cool, I'll check it out.
Get the game patched up - patch after patch - took me all week. I have a very slow ISP.
Got my password reset - logged into account management - all is looking good.
Finally get a chance to get into the client today - new patch - almost 2G worth... wtf. 8 hours later, go to log in. Your login information is incorrect. Huh?
Go to Account management - logs in fine.
I try changing my password - Account management still works fine.
Go to log into game, still incorrect.
Go to submit a trouble ticket (not that I have any real expectation of it being answered or resolved prior to this weekend expiring). It requires 2 of 4 forms of ID: your secret question, your CC on the account, a paypal invoice for purchasing the account, or a game time code. I never purchased or subscribed, so 3 out of the 4 there aren't possible.
We'll see. I wasn't intrigued enough to buy after beta - but I had heard there were significant improvements. I'm not really holding my breath at this point.

3 hours later, they did fix it - kudos Zenimax/Bethesda. Now to see Tamirel
Funny. I actually quit ESO on the first day of the beta. I didn't like anything that I saw. Gave it another shot this Thursday and ended up buying the game. It's not exactly a "great" game so in my opinion it's definitely not worth a subscription, but I think the game is enjoyable enough as a B2P for now (plus I had 25% off...it helps).

I also wanted to update:
I decided to buy, but I did consider this purchase more thoroughly than most.
The quick attention to the trouble ticket was a bonus. I like that they support OS X, and I like the B2P business model.
The game itself this weekend - I didn't get very far (from L1 to L12 or so), the gameplay I saw was... ok. Not a bad game, but it felt more like Oblivion (with fewer interactable objects) than an MMO to me. I wasn't blown away, but it was a lot improved over the Beta. Combat still felt sluggish to me (that very well could affected by my crappy ISP), I'm not sold on the guild-only marketplaces, and I still felt a bit isolated and more like a single player experience - but overall it felt a lot more polished than it did back just prior to the original release.
I had a hard time justifying it to myself paying the full $60 for that, even though I love to support OS X development and B2P games.
But I noticed there was a 25% off coupon if you buy it on the ZOS online store in with the original email for the free weekend -- $45 is a lot easier to swallow than $60, so that pushed me over the edge to make the plunge.
There will always be problems with a game. Some may be around for a long time because of the nature of the product. It's often easy for players to say it should be easy or quick to fix. Without knowing how the coding is interwoven, they have no basis in reality.
For me, I've gotten back to ESO and am having a good time.

Just bought it myself but no way was i using the ZOS store. £50 there vs ~£18 everywhere else lol.

Well done getting it at £18. Everywhere though? Just under £55 on Game and £50 on Amazon.co.uk, Zavvi, Green Man Games, Steam and others. Some stores' online sites no longer stock it as well.
I don't doubt you by the way - original copies of the game, released last year, did drop in price and there could well be some lurking - especially in local stores.

Really now?
...yes you still have to buy it...
These are not "trial keys" in the sense that I think you mean.
Kudos for you posting that they fixed it as well.

I self identify as a monkey.
exact same story as me for the most part.
ESO was pretty much the last MMO hold out that I was semi-interested in.
I will begrudgingly play it.
