Looking for Multiplayer FPS

I`m a pretty hardcore MMORPG player but since I moved from consoles to computer that I quitted First Person Shooters, I have heard about games like Planetside 2 and Destiny but it seems like for whatever reason they are more about Hype and even thought some of my friends recommended them to me when they come out soon after they stop playing them.

I`m looking for something with good Graphics, not too old, good level of customization, a good community and a good amount of active players to play with.

Bear in mind that I'm not trying to play as an hardcore gamer but something to log in and have some fun when I have free time.

    I had a lot of fun with Heroes and Generals. Its worth checking out as it is free to play. Pretty fun game if you dont mind the world war 2 type of era.

    There is not many FPS games out there I would actually want to play myself since they all seem to be the same these days.

    I do how ever play Arma 3 using the Overpoch mod, Base building with team members, missions, raiding others bases and lots of other things to keep one amused. The community on overpoch how ever can be a bit unforgiving, with most people shooting you on sight but you only need a mic to communicate with people and you actually realize people are more friendly than they seem.

    I would actually play Dayz StandAlone, but its no where near ready.... Arma 3 offers so much and almost feels like a MMO sometimes due to the size of some of the maps. You keep your gear you find but if some one kills you, they can take your gear.

    There is lots of nice shooter games out there but the only problem is most of them will have cash shops that give exp bonus or loot find % etc etc. If you want to avoid those then buy something with longevity.  If I was to recommend a game more like CoD but not CoD it would have to be Titan Fall Origin is also giving away free maps and stuff for this atm.

     

    If you dont mind playing a game with a cash shop, and like a bit of tactical there is Survarium just released a new patch and also got put on steam today im sure. Ive been in closed beta for a while its ok I suppose with very nice maps tactical play that could rival counter strike with the right teams.

    Firefall and Defiance come to mind.

    Both are F2P as wel.
