    Redwall series by Brian Jaques

So much places to visit. He was always so good at giving you an amazing setting, very detailed. And all the food he talks about, my gosh! I think it'll be a truely unique MMO as his books dont follow the human / elf / dwarf type races, they are all animals such as Badgers, mouses, rats, moles, otters, weasles, etc.

I highly recommend that you make a list of the books you've never heard of and give them a go.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Either that or at least you will have learned something and expanded horizons.

There are great books out there that are waiting to be re-discovered!

I remembered when I was in the 4th grade and my brother had a box full of books, I asked him where he was taking them. He replied he was donating then to the local library. So I said I'll keep them. That's when I first discovered the world of Middle-Earth!

The Mistborn series is good but nowhere near Brandon Sanderson's best work IMO. The Reckoners Trilogy (Steelheart and Firefight so far +Mitosis, Calamity is coming out in 2016) is set in such an amazing world, and it would translate incredibly to an MMO. The Stormlight Archive is also amazing through the first 2 books. Sanderson is easily one of the best authors who has ever worked in fantasy.

I also LOVE the Red Rising Trilogy by Pierce Brown (Red Rising + Golden Son so far). Such an incredible story, probably my favorite novels from a current author. THE ENDING TO GOLDEN SON? BRO.

Yeah, it's amazing what can be saved and how others don't realize their value.

Believe me, I tossed so many cool/good/amazing things when I was younger and seriously regret it.

If they do make a Wheel of Time MMO, I bet it will be punned as "Waste of Time".

Unless I missed it, I didn't see anyone mention the Malazan Book of the Fallen. Now there's a series ripe with everything needed for a great MMORPG.

"While it is not the same level of realism that you see in games such as The Secret World, it is decidedly more grounded than World of Warcraft or most other games."

Really? Trollocs and Ogiers? Aes Sedai and Seanchan? I'm not so sure I would call it more grounded... :)

A Harry Potter Wizarding MMO is a no brainer.  So disappointed with Pottermore in the fact that it has no gaming option attached to it.  If they could only add an MMO to it it would be amazing!  One day I think it will happen.

I would agree Harry Potter Online hype would be crazy!!! A sword of fire and ice would be killer as well..!!! World of Darkness setting would be interesting to develop. Warhammer 40k have a very rich background,  Necromunda should be the perfect playground for a MMO. I would like to have a Matrix remake and a solid Forgotten realms Online game.

Twilight dude.... shoot me for making that joke. I would kill a dev that modeled an MMO after Twighlight. I like Vampire and Werewolf lore, but that was ridiculous.

    On a more serious note:

-Jennifer Roberson's Chronicles of the Cheysuli, I think would be interesting sandboxy type MMO.

-Of course Wheel of Time could be good as it is one of my favorite worlds.

-Patricia Briggs has interesting lore on the shapeshifter side set in modern times I think, but that might be too close to TSW, not sure though, could be good.

-Eragon done well, not stupid Dragon's Prophecy or whatever that crap is that SOE/Daybreak has. I had such high hopes for that and well, it sucks bad.

I think that's about all I can think of atm.

I have to agree. I couldn't get into it at all. I tried reading it, got through the first book and it just didn't interest me. I tried a few months ago to give it another chance by listening to the Audio book, that was even worse.

Red Eagle Gaming has the rights to a WoT MMO, and has for some years, nothing's come of it tho,

TBH, I'd rather see a GoT MMO. WoT being what it is, and the definitive close to the series, means a WoT MMO has to take place before events we already know happen(which worked so well for SWG, right?) or afterward, in the fourth Age(which has some serious potential) and would require Harriet's oversight.

Waiting for: Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen

I'm shocked that no one has mentioned L.E. Modesitt's The Saga of Recluse.

This series is an immense universe that spans thousands of years, and you could plop us in at any point and time in that universe and make a convincing MMO.
