Its a ok card I guess.. I really want to see Penn do well so he can get a shot at his title.. Yeah I said his since he dominated Hughes and won it and had it stripped from him when he fought a match in K-1..

I still perfer Pride over UFC though..Better fighters, and ofcoure it has the baddest fighter on the planet.. FEDOR!

i personally love UFC more than PRIDE coz you had to win 3 to 4 fights in one night! Now  that's an Ultimate Fighting Champion. Also i like the mixtures of styles before, until everyone was forced to cross-train to succeed. I can just throw in that of course the first difference you will notice is UFC has the cage and Pride has a ring. Now this is the HUGE difference between the two. The cage allows for people to be pinned to it creating more leverage for ground n' pound, while in Pride if you start to get under the ropes they stop the fight and put you in the same position in the middle of the ring. I personally prefer the octagon to the ring.

UFC58 promises to be spectacular! i love the card.

  • What are the rules in this thing, I've never watched it except for a pay per view thing over someone's house years ago. I'm guessing eye gauging is out? The thing I watched years ago just had a few punches and kicks thrown, then one guy would put the other into some kind of submission move and you'd get to watch for ten minutes while nothing actually happened.

Here's the Rules from the official site. I think that if you don't know much about submission fighting then some of these matches can become boring to watch. A lot of the times you will get to see some awesome KOs, but there will be the long struggles matches when two submission artists go at it. I enjoy watching all these matches, and they have even put in some rules to keep the matches moving.

UFC is for martial artists and fight fans. Some of these matches won't be entertaining for someone who only watches Boxing matches. I like all types of sport fighting though.

Penn vs. St. Pierre is by far the most intriguing. It's really a tough call on who is going to win. Does Georges have what it takes? it's a tough call really, but since he's repping Canada I'm gonna say he'll win.

    Good Day...

Neither. What I don't accept is that you basicly called anyone who likes UFC a nerd. Better yet, you're calling people nerds on an internet forum. Now, are you going to tell me that you're not a nerd? I really have a hard time believing this. We are all nerds here and everyone should accept it. But to say that only nerds watch ufc is idiotic. I know lots of people who watch the ufc and they are far from being nerds. These guys won't even get close to a computer.

im excited to see Rich Franklin beat the Crow.  Franklin and Loiseau should be neck and neck with Rich ahead by a bit.

About the George Saint Pierre/BJ Penn fight? I am going to go with GSP, only because BJ last few fights he has looked disintrested in, so he might be coming in looking for a check, and GSP will come in looking to show the world that he is the man!

Heck with this two fights alone, its worth the PPV.

Since I live in Vegas should I get tickets? Also what happened to Mark Coleman? I used to go to school with him that's the only reason I am asking.

In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.

i think you should, UFC58 is a brilliant fight card.I'm glad that the UFC is bringing back the lightweights division in general.

If Georges St. Pierre trains like he always does, he should have no problems with BJ Penn. Hughes lost to Penn because he didn't train for it, he figured he'd just walk right over him, and he got caught with his guard down. Pierre almost had Hughes beaten but Hughes did an unexpected submission on him...I think Pierre is the best welterweight fighter in the UFC, he's just unrealized.

Loiseau won't be able to handle Franklin's striking, Franklin doesn't get in a clinch too often for Loiseau to use his elbows effectively.

    Im Amazed..... NOT!!!

ROFL yeah Huges figured he should not train for the man that just came off a Vitory agianst one of the best fighters PfP in the world Gomi..... ahahahaha... Or maybe he just got beat, or maybe you should talk about what you know, or maybe im wrong and you roll with team Miletech and you saw first hand that Matt wasnt there training like always.....

    On to GSP

Lets compare Pierres competition level to Penns shall we... On second thought lets not since there is no comparison, nowhere in his record will you see wins or losses for that matter aginst fighters like Uno, Ludwig, Gomi (the PFP 2nd best fighter in teh WORLDm right now behind Fedor), Hughes (Opps Pierre did fight Huges.. and LOST)...

Bottom line is that Penn has fought the best in the world and more times then not beaten them, while Pierre fought ONE top guy and got beat....

The only way Penn loses this fight is if we see the Fat Albert version show up.. The version that wanted to fight in the LHW division so he could fight Wandy. If he comes in looking like he is going to give birth then he losses, but I think he gave up those plans to move up in weight, so Penn by RNC round 1.
