I played civ 5 for a few weeks but didn't like it that much.
starcraft 2 was way way to macro intensive and i am not that hard core as a gamer.
i saw dungeons II and war for the overweorld but nervous because they are not finished,
im LF a good 4x MULTIPLAYER game, i dont like playing vs computer much.
I want something that has a large population , so people to play when i want to play. and something that will be around for at leasst 1-2 more years so i get my cash worth.

Endless Legend is really good. The game however pushes you a bit with the winter mechanic.
Personally I love the mechanic, but there are a lot of reviews where people want to turn it off.
I also have to give a thumbs up to Age of Wonders 3.
As for any kind of Sci-fi game. Endless space is "ok" but it does need some work in my opinion.

Several Unlocks and a few days game time to make the F2P considerably easier
I'm really burned out on the 4x genre at the moment. All the games are pretty much 'build everything, everywhere'. I was excited when AoW3 went on sale a few weeks back. Got a copy -- it lasted three days. It is pretty, but it is not as diverse as Master of Magic. Each of the races built different troops, and a selection of city upgrades, and each color set needed different strategies, and even variations on the spells you could receive forced you to try new strategies. Together, these attributed created a game with vastly greater replay value. Everything since has been focused on graphics improvement, and seem to lose the wonderful complexity that still feels fresh game after game.
AoW3 did well with powers for the hero characters, but the sameness of the basic unit types shared by every race just pushed me away.
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
