Ok, finally broke down and bought that new Acer Gsync 1440p IPS monitor. Supposed to come in thursday, i'll post results when i get it. Just hoping for no dead or stuck pixels at this point.

Generally this forum has an anti G-Sync sentiment.
Quizzical can weigh in more later im sure ;-).
This post was more for him and a couple other frequent posters in the hardware section. We had a discussion on this a bit in the past.

Running SLI'd 760's at the moment.

That's something to mock you for: getting two mid-range GPUs instead of one high end one.
Nice monitor. Hopefully you will enjoy it
But yeah...... 760s in SLI??
My advice is next time go with a single top end GPU. Or if you just want to sli then do it right with two top end GPUs. I learned my lesson long ago about SLI and low / mid range cards. Overall its just a waste of money.
Yeah, i regret the decision. So what happened was when the 760's came out i was still running a 460, so i upgraded to a single 760. About 3 months down the road i decided to pick up a second one. I didnt get a 770 at the time because they were pushing $400 and it was just a bad value proposition. But the single 760 wasn't really doing what i needed. So, in my defense i've owned these video cards since the 7xx series were released.
In hindsight i will never do SLI again. Its not that its terrible, its just that you get random weird shit with some games. Dota 2 was basically unplayable with SLI because of weird texture popping and stuff like that, just as an example.
I'm *debating* selling my 760's and just picking up a 980. Im not sure though, just depends on how much i can get for them.
I was kind of thinking i might just wait until the new intel cpu's come out and then do a full blown upgrade and then give my old gaming PC to my nephew.

I ran 260's in SLI back in the day.
Just because I wanted to see how SLI worked mostly, not really because I wanted more performance or anything.
I wasn't impressed enough to sink any more money into SLI/CFX ever again.
After a few months of it, I got a 6970 and never looked back - I ran that card from the day it released until just a few months ago, and likely could have continued running it for a while longer if I hadn't just got the upgrade itch last fall.
Welp, monitor is setup, no dead pixels. Havent had a chance to test it in game yet, but everything else looks great.
22 to a 27" is a rather large space gain, im almost starting to think its too large. Hopefully i get used to the size (thats what she said).
Edit: Monitor is awesome, gotta admit the thing im most impressed with is the color reproduction. You dont realize how shitty TN is vs IPS until you switch.

Why'd you get a GSync when FreeSync works with NVidia cards? Unlike your GPU that will last 3~5 years, your monitor might last a decade. I think picking proprietary technology on a monitor is a bad idea. I'm not sure how many people still enjoy their NVidia Stereoscopic monitors now.
Also on Monitor size, I went from a 22" to a 27". Now when I work on a 22" I think its just too small. To me the monitor is one of the more important aspects of your computer. It really doesn't matter what internal hardware is in your tower if you are still using a 15" CRT. The monitor is the means to enjoy all those pieces of hardware, and to me a good monitor is apart of having a balanced build.
Does adaptive sync work on Nvidia? I certainly believe that Nvidia could make it work in drivers, but I haven't found any official announcement that it does work or even that Nvidia plans to make it work.
I don't know if anyone has tried to tinker with with some of the freesync monitor's and titan x yet, i'll look around, the problem is i don't know if any nvidia gpu except the titan x has the required displayport version to even try to jerry-rig freesync.
