SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

UPDATE: Less than twelve hours after the Steam Greenlight campaign began, Tree of Savior has officially reached its goal!

If you voted to bring Tree of Savior, tell us why in the comments.

An English language version of Tree of Savior has arrived on Steam Greenlight though there is still no word yet on a publisher for either North America or the EU. Those interested in seeing a Steam release should log into Steam and vote it up.

Head to the Tree of Savior Steam page for more information.

I'm hoping this sends a clear message to them. That we seriously want a decent game for international use asap.

People have been wanting a true successor to Raganrok Odyssey so it's no surprise this was green lighted.

I always votes for a greenlight if it seems like a lot of people want it. Plus, this game looks kind of fun. I would like a sci-fi game like this.

Been following this for awhile so hoping this Steam greenlit is an official one.  Nothing on their webpage or facebook page about this.  Either way, looking forward to trying an MMO of this style.

i voted yes , because its looks like has everything i wanted from a 2.5D mmoprg , a true sucessor of Ragnarok Online :D

I'm crossing my fingers as I hope this isn't a hoax. I'm a huge RO fan and would love to see this spiritual successor come to the west.

  • KumaponKumapon Member EpicPosts: 1,605

Woot! It looks like this was not a hoax after all. IMC has just confirmed that they published TOS on Steam Greenlight. Sounds like they will have a further announcement down the road.

    Why? let's see

1st, i grew up with an Isometric view MMO ( Ragnarok, Laghaim, Xian, Stargate Online )

2nd, this will be epic since it is bought to you from the original creator of Ragnarok Online

3rd, this is what RO2 should have been.

    4th, 80 freakin classes!!

    So What Now?

The only downside is the keyboard controlled movement/targeting, no mouse :|

i haven't done much research on the controls, but i heard that you could use the controller ( D pad to move, which is quite nice )

but yeah, i agree, without mouse support, i think it will feel weird :S

I love 2.5d... Taking me back to Sega genesis and landstalker... Loved! That game! I like the better graphics on this one.

    And love the class freedom!

Loving the Secret of Mana look. I'll play this since I missed out on RO in its heyday

Game looks like it'd be bad ass to play with a controller too.

I sometimes miss the great joy of pure grinding and 2.5D goodness that RO gave. ARG like D3 scratch the itch a bit, but to have such gameplay in a true MMO is heavenly.

from what I could understand you can change classes at will, not sure if on fly or in a npc or something, I also read some classes would have hidden reqs to be open for use

That's interesting, I always liked the way FFXI handled jobs.

You can't change class the way you want, once you have chosen a class you can't change them or go back. You have to make another character, but you will have a Barrack holding all your characters. So they expect a LOT of chars to be made :P

That looks like a really well developed and fun game for people who want that old school style RPG in an MMO format.  It's not my cup of tea, but I'm glad it succeeded and I hope it's as good as the gameplay looks in the steam videos.

Looks like another win for Greenlight to me!
