GameNet has announced that the first closed beta test for Black Desert Online in Russia will take place from May 28th to May 31st. Players can gain access to the CBT through a series of events, give aways and contests promoted by GameNet and will be the only players to try out some of the new content being specifically designed for the Russian community, most notably in PvP and leveling.

Closed beta testing will take place over the course of several events over the coming months. We'll keep you posted.

It's fascinating how the focus for Western-moving Asian MMOs has shifted from NA/EU to Russia. It seems to have become the norm in the last year or so. There's no question that the RU community is passionate about its games. :)

Well, let´s just hope that a closed beta will come next to EU/NA sooner rather than later :)

Don't worry everyone. NA will release it as late as possible, giving everyone enough time to forget that the game even existed to begin with. Then, they will botch it with terrible payment models and support, hackers will run rampant because the hackers have had years prep making every exploit, cheat, hack in the book testing it on KR, EU, RU, servers.

By the time BD reaches NA, the game will have already failed.

On a side note, i wonder what kind of restrictions they will put on the RU version. Maybe i'll try to get into that and just make that my home for BD.  I sure as hell am not going to play it when it finally reaches NA.

I was excited for AA and waited years for that game to make it to NA. What a waste of money and time that was. Never again, if we're being treated as second rate costumers who come last they will earn less and less each Eastern mmo Westernization as people catch on.

The NA/EU gaming market is too fickle.  What it want's one year can change drastically the next.  Can't say I blame them for holding out.

and they seem to complain/demand less than NA/EU so it looks like Asia have an easier time negotiating games with Russia lately. Maybe we could check our own whiny conduct? Not saying every complain is unjustified but damn.... we've been whining so hard in the last few years its not even funny.

What comes around goes around, same process has Archeage, first Russians who hack the game to pieces then get bored, and even before EU/NA get their hands on it the Russian servers are a ghost town and the Russians move to the EU servers. Rinse and repeat.

This will not end well if Black Desert follow the same path.
