Blizzard has announced a special new contest based around the recent additions to World of Warcraft that include the S.E.L.F.I.E. camera and Twitter integration. Players are invited to take and submit their best selfies in order to win weekly prizes and even the opportunity to score Blizzcon tickets.

To be fair to Blizzard, Twitter is probably paying them to put on this promotion.
All Time Favorites: EQ1, WoW, EvE, GW1
Playing Now: WoW, ESO, GW2
How much more out of touch not only with their playerbase, but even with their own product can a company be?
Blizzard is trying to do something fun!
BURN THEM!!!
Have to really wonder if some of you actually feel joy when playing MMOs.
You do know that MMOs can be more than just crushing misery? Right?
rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar
Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D
How dare they implement something fun and quirky into the game and encourage people to use it!
Sheesh people, lighten the hell up. Don't like it? Don't use it. Problem solved.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!
We are born of the blood. Made men by the blood. Undone by the blood. Our eyes are yet to open. FEAR THE OLD BLOOD.

I would have thought they would want to move on after the 6.1 'drama', rather than go back and highlight the 'content' of that patch again through a contest like this.
Most people that unsubbed from WoD did so because there is zero level 100 content besides raiding and PvP, not because of a lack of Twitter functionality.
Such a shame, WoD was arguably their most hyped expansion to date, and had a great initial experience, until players reached level 100 and learned it had nothing else left to offer.
I don't know, people was tell me that how great that expansion is, and how good it was, over and over, like there doing with ff14 expansion or gw2, never ends with the hype to high.
S.E.L.F.I.E camera? Twitter integration? These things are not the most efficient use of developer resources in a video game. It seems to be located in the same vein of these other new games being released with "companion apps."
This new trend of developers trying to get you to play their game by enticing you to do everything but actually play their game is.. Oxymoronic, for lack of a better term.
