I have to say something about my personal understanding of GW2 patronage. I know alot of gamers, from mmo to fps to rts to 4x. I know them in person, Steam account friend list, dozens of ex-guildies from a myriad of games with whom I still stay in contact. We talk, joke around, etc. From this list of people with whom I'm personally acquainted, not one plays GW2 or has for some time, nor do they care to play GW2.
I will tell you from personal experience who plays GW2, many of their children, 16 and under. This has left me with the understanding the game is made to target the "kid demographic", and knowing this, I cast an uneasy side-glance toward adults with any interest in the game.
Now I understand this might come off as offensive to some people. It's not my intention to make less of you or your pastime. I just needed to get this off my chest, as it's the whole truth, and a matter of serious consideration. What does it mean, entirely? I'm not entirely sure, nor will I venture to speculate, for risk of seeming vitriolic.
Your entire post follows a logical fallacy, why not just say you also think that adults that like the Animated Pixar movies (a product that is also targeted toward children) get the "shifty eye" too?
Or about adults that like:
Mario Kart
Disneyland
Harry Potter
Pokemon
Do they get the "Uneasy side-glance" as well?
Lol I was pretty much thinking the same but didn't want to make a post that I don't always need to play a game with the brutality of a 90s Arnold Schwarzenegger movie to enjoy.

I am amused by your self-proclaimed purveyance of GW2, a game you clearly have no interest in and has decided that your personal experience within your so-called large group of gaming friends. You might be speaking the truth about your personal experience, but it is no barometer of the facts.
It's already been studied in surveys, as someone posted. GW2 has a very wide demographic of gamers, something obviously that can't be said about your group of friends who you seem to think represents the entire gaming community.
I caution you to use such vast pool of your buddylist as a factual representation.

Lineage is the Korean Wow, comparing another game with it is as useful as comparing it to Wow. MMOs became mainstream faster in South Korea so Lineage were the game that got people to play there and the first game is magical.
As for GW2 it does about as I thought it would, don't forget that GW didn't become close to what it became until after Nightfall released. For GW2 to really become the game it should be it needs a similar expansion/campaign.
What do you mean that GW didn't become close to what it became after Nightfall released? Do you mean from the way it played or didn't become as good until Nightfall?
GW Prophecies was probably the best iteration of the game as the game was new and there was a lot more people to play through the missions. Factions was amazing too but you could notice the spreading of the population as the world became bigger and bigger.
Nightfall expanded the world again and it started to feel like a very different game as everyone was playing by themselves then. And let's not forget that it was only a few months into Nightfall that we got the heartbreaking news that GW1 was going to be put on life support after GWEN.
If anything GW was way better during Prohpecis and Factions. I don't even know if population was higher during NIghtfall & Gwen. It certainly didn't feel that way. And we can't take sales as an indication as they only announced cumulative sales at various points. So Prophecies and especially Factions could've easily eclipsed Nightfall and GWEN in terms of active players and even sales.

Boring game anyway, most people in game are just farming events to get the money to exchange for gems.
Dungeons and sets are still the same of the first months, the only new entry are in the gem store,no guild housing,no player housing, the crafting it's a farm, the gameplay is boring and events are a grinding machine, really I can't see why people are playing,it's not even fun.

I'm not sure how many times I say this a month but here it goes again. Just because you don't find it fun doesn't mean it's not fun to the thousands that are playing. Everyone is different.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
We have a member in our Guild/gaming community on Sanctum of Rall who has 23,000+ AP; (last i checked that is, it's been awhile since i've looked) - She's a super achievement-driven crazy woman.
