One of the best things a game developer can do is get direction from those who play it. While a developer may have passion for the game they are creating, they will never understand the game itself like those who play it day in and day out. We play the games for a lot longer than any developer. So of course we all have feedback and design concepts that we feel could improve the overall quality of the game. What we don’t have is the behind the scenes knowledge to know what concepts are possible.

No XP boost!
did they do something to mob grinding in ESO?
can ramp a toon to lvl 50 in like 8-24hrs no sweat if have any AOE
exp boost would just be a cash grab for lazy people or people who want to grind faster
If I understand things correctly, it's not leveling that's the issue, but the endgame advancement system (Champion Points).
If leveling were capped I doubt anyone would have an issue (or, at least, no more so than any other game with exp pots), but with CP it's essentially not. It's closer to being able to buy faster SP progression in Eve than faster leveling in GW2 et al.
Sounds like a nice little mini game for those so inclined.
"And, in this corner we have..."
I approve of the idea 100%,it should always be this way.remember EVERY single dev CLAIMS they are listening, the truth is they PRETEND to listen but really don't.
As to what is possible or could be implemented, there really is no limitations, just cost and willingness to put in that effort. This is when you hear the "we listen "speech,if an idea is CHEAP and one they already were thinking of ,they claim see we listen.
Almost 100% the time, when i hear change or ideas,it is the cheaper less costly idea, yet devs think gamer's are stupid and make claims they are doing the change for the good of the game or the what is best for gamer's.
This topic is exactly what has been frustrating me for a long time, devs are NOT willing to put any depth or cool ideas in their games, only what is easy and cheap and allows them a faster to market game.Auto map generation, few models or repeated models, simple combat structures, lazy sloppy designs that just toss a pile of abilities into a pool and tell the players to pick.
Even PVP is done at it's laziest cheapest form in rpg's and reason why i want no part of it in my rpg's.If your not going to do pvp right, don't even bother, your just trying to sell more copies or get more cash shop sales with lazy pvp designs.
Huge topic,it reminds me back before FFXIV when players of FFXI just wanted better graphics and some housing and a few tweaks.Sqaure claimed too costly, instead it was nothing but greed and guess what it set them back multiple millions in their cheap rushed FFXIV release.Sure FFXIV is doiong well now a days but how long to recoue those millions they lost?
That is why devs SHOULD be listening 100% listening and even if they find an idea too costly,be honest and discuss it or ways to do it cheaper, don't give gamer's politically correct BS speeches,we are not dumb.

Or those that want a faster path while leveling alts. It doesnt really bother me if others level a bit faster.
I think it's a stretch to say that they're using data mining as a way to throw stuff at the wall to see what sticks but there's no doubt that they do listen and react - usually very quickly as we saw when they stopped broadcasting in-game ads for crown store time-limited items 2 or 3 days after they first did it after players complained.
But like any other large game studio, they're very tight-lipped about some juicier bits that have a much larger influence on the game than any of these data mined tid-bits... as when Nick Konkle, the lead game play designer disappeared and reappeared as a senior designer at Riot games working on LOL and Maria Aliprando, another prominent game play designer left at the same time.
It'd be nice to have some investigative journalism going on in the MMO world to get the scoop on these stories too. But sadly, that can't be data mined

XP boosts would be the only thing I would buy. However, making them not usable in VR is not an improvement. Who knows if/when they will really get rid of veteran ranks? Leveling veteran ranks is when you most need xp pots, because the grind is horrible after you've already done the same exact quests once or twice. And you need to do a lot of the quests to get the skill points they give at completion.
I can understand people thinking it's p2w if it applies to champion points. I would be okay if it just applied to leveling, but not to champion points. So by the time you reach VR14, you would have just as many cp as anyone else who reached vr14 without xp pots. Also, xp pots wouldn't work after reaching vr14, so people wouldn't use them to get more cp.
I prefer to have devs with a strong vision for their game rather than building a game based on the wants of vocal community members. I think it is nice that in ESO's case the devs are sensitive to feedback and act appropriately on it while still delivering on their core vision for the game.
Personally I think they are too sensitive to vocal community members. As a player sometimes I almost feel as if the devs are behest to some overly emotional and melodramatic forum goers. It seems every second day you'll see some huge post by a disgruntled player trying to armbend the devs to change the game - lately the trend has been to post screen shots of their sub being canceled because the devs don't do what they tell them to.
Suggesting that a game should be dictated by such wankers is not a good idea imo.
that is why EXP pots is a cash grab. I dont buy EXP pots and IMO it doesnt affect my gameplay if others get them. With that said, that is why it is a cash grab, to exploit people with less time and more money. THey increase the time to progress (experience rate) so those with little time to play have to spend more on exp pots in order to catch up. I personally dont play a video game to "catch up", i play to have fun so their cash grab tactics wont work on me. The day i feel restricted enough in X mmo i stop playing.
Zenimax "secretly transparent"
................. laughs out loud....................
(yup...Zenimax's buy to play move, with PC players paying a subscription while beta testing for the console launch, was really "secretly transparent" .
well you know that paying the sub and playing the game was / is optional. I am a PC player with an active sub currently. I also bought the PS4 version with the character xfer option.
I wouldnt have continued to pay for a sub if I ( and many others it would seem ) were not enjoying the game. IMO the dev team is one of the better teams out there. As they actually do listen to feedback and have made changes based on that. Not all the time, as you cant please everyone, but enough to show they do actually listen to players.
