First Blade & Soul announces they will be releasing this winter, then The Repopulation announces it's going to be a releasing in Q4 2015.  It's going to be a great winter indeed.

they are saying they can get from the current state of the game to release... I can't see it happening this year at all and be a game i'd be willing to play.

I dont think thats a good idea if its current state is any indication. It looks like 2nd quarter of 2016 would be enough time but maybe they have some new magician programmers they just took on or something.

This game has a lot of potential but tbh it needs more time and polish.

Eeeesh. Good luck guys. You have a lot of work ahead of you. I was going to say, at the current rate of fixes/improvements, I was gauging this game being release ready by the end of NEXT year.

Good luck to them but I think it will be way to early, I can't see how it will be in a releasable state within 6 months

Well, they must really need the money. Given the rought state the game is still in, they better work day and night.

I really hope not, unless they start working way faster than they have been it wont be finished.

one of the changes coming is an upgrade to the Hero engine which is suppose to fix many of the small glitches and lower end graphics. Hopefully it wont create more of them. and I agree it seems to fast for me.

This made me instantly think of H1Z1,i swear that game had no more than a total of 6 months into it,yet Smed has made millions on it already. It is sad to see such a one map effort by Smed's team make it rich off such little effort, then this team is working harder, has more game already to show yet struggles.

I watched the videos and to me the combat and game looks like a cross between STWOR and Tabula Rasa.

I can say this,i have played every single class in SWTOR and the combat turned me right off as being god awful. This game looks to have more depth and a tad better combat but tough to tell from the videos  i watched.

Honestly i just hate watching MMO videos now a days ALL OF THEM from every new game,it is always SOLO action.Develoeprs i know like to key on pvp a lot, which is usually solo anyhow but still.

Imo you don't need to spend massive money and time building a world and ideas just to support pvp,it is better supported with the type of weapons and map design for 1/10th the cost and time.I might as wel lstate again, that is why i don't like pvp in my rpg's,i rather see TEAM game play not solo game play, but not massive like 100 p;layer or even Raid type massive,i like a small controlled team. However having played a lot of pvp in my days, you can pull that off with Arena type 4 on 4.Even still i prefer 4-6 man PVE type gaming, that is what i look for.

Same.  When I see gameplay videos where players are soloing, I literally close the tab and write the game off.  Even the games that are supposedly based around heavy group play and pvp make these mistakes.  Maybe its just a pet peeve as someone who works in marketing, but theres no excuse for failing to represent your product and distinguish your game/brand identity.

Yeah get ready for a very unpolished game at release.  There is just no way their small team is going to have this in decent release shape by the end of the year.
  • rwyanrwyan Member UncommonPosts: 468

I am concerned as well.  The game is far from ready for release.  Very rough around the edges so-to-speak.  The Repop. dev team is extremely likeable, talented and capable - hope they can pull it off.

Echoing what pretty much everyone else in the thread said: this game, more than likely, will not be ready by Q4 of this year.

It's a disastrous (or, at best, mediocre) release and critical reception in the making.

If this is finally ready for release then I'll have to log back in and give it another go.  The last time I logged in it was pretty much still in early Beta from the look of it.

    I'm so stoked for this!

Who said this won't be perfect after all we know what is right
And the sounds of bodies clashing is enough to make them cry.
You know this cannot be perfect even when it is feeling right.
And the sound of bodies crashing echo through the night.

Game keeps getting better with each patch.. i would say its more than doable to get it ready for an end of year release.

There is nothing really wrong with the hero engine.. The version the repopulation is running also has very little to do with the one SWTOR is using..

I read on their forums that they are working on combat. They are aware that it is not exactly where it needs to be. So that is good

The good thing about Repop combat is that it has two modes and the feel is pretty good. The team is really good at making needed changes and they have shown great judgment so far (not responding to whining, but listening and trying to makes the systems work well).

    Q4 release announcement is great

The two games play nothing alike. It's so different in performance that I have to wonder if it just wasn't the super half-assed approach of the SWTOR team. There are better engines out there, but given a bigger and more dynamic game, Repop runs better than SWTOR did on my machine.
