PvP is this a thing yet?

last time i played PvP wasn't really a thing in this game.. they had something called wolf something i think but there seemed to be 0 interest in that among the players. but i think i remember something about them adding some new PvP content. did that catch on? is it any good? running around in dungeons day in and day out is not really my idea of fun so i lost interst in the game.
I had fun once, it was terrible.

Nobody does PvP. Or frontlines. If your coming to this game for the PvP, just turn around and go home lol.
People do pvp/frontlines, some servers are better than others sure but its not completely dead yet.
There was a new battleground added at some point around 2.4 to 2.5 that you can queue for through DF and awards various tomes and wolf marks. On Leviathan during prime time I usually see 6 to 15 minute queues. I don't know how many serious players are out there, I would imagine most people are just doing it for tomes and marks. I honestly think it's a decent way to grind tomes and marks for ilvl 90 gear as a break from dungeons. The matches are short and if the queue times are decent you can run 2 or 3 over an hour.

The new pvp content actually made pvp WORSE.
If you like pvp I suggest you avoid this game like the plague.
to be honest the design for pvp and rewards are amazing. they just needed to time gate it so people interested in PvP will have daily schedule to pvp. sadly, the market segment that plays FFXIV are only concerened with PVE so the queue times kills the pvp in this game even if the design is good.
in a nutshell, if you are ONLY looking for PvP do not play ffxiv
